Title: english football
Post by: scotlandsbest on June 29, 2010, 11:41:16 am
i remember writing on here about the state of the english leagues going the sameway as the scotland premiership in the past

i.e forigners in the teams

i was slated for being scottish and minding my own buiseness but it seems ive been proven right by

1 results in the world cup
2 by all the pundits
3 by ian wright himself

you have to invest in youth and stop this bombardment of forigners in the leagues
its doing either of our teams any favours 1 thing that will stop this is a wagecap system not just our countrys but on average all the leagues in europe and the world
yes you can say that it wont happen but if you did it on revenue it will work itself out in the end wrighty said germany do it so why not over here for one it will bring the youth systems into play and therefore better english and scottish players
clubs will be forced to bring and invest in these players

i look forward to your replys in me supporting scotland and mind my own
but its a football forum to discuss and not always take the piss

up the rovers !!!!!!!!!!!!!

and please billy if you read this just get yourself down the keepmoat and sign on that dotted line please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We built a wall to keep you chuffs out  ;)

But seriously I feel the Scottish, Welsh, Irish leagues are dictated by the English League. If we are strong on the domestic front with home grown players, then there maybe a chance the other home nations will be strong internationally too.

There are many Scottish players who ply their trade in England, always have and always will as we are united in kingdom. I'm just doing a quick count off the top of my head of the Scottish players:

McFadden- Passed around a few English clubs and not even a regular
Gordon- Cannot hold a place
Hutton- cannot/could not get in at Spurs
Fletcher- in and out of the Man Utd team, in reality he's merely a work horse for the non English players plus Rooney. What use is that to Scotland?

Wales- Time will tell if Ramsay is to hold regular place in the Arsenal team, I will not hold my breath. Bale is doing ok, Ledley- we'll see there, Giggs- twilight, Bellamy- in and out at City. Actually the Welsh look stronger,

Ireland (both)- ditto

The home grown players from the above need to be playing in the top division of the English league and it's not really happening, in a few years it might also apply to the England players, and that's started already.

you obviously didnt read the post correctly yes the scottish players ply there trade down here but i was stating the fact of non home grown talent i.e french african and spanish italian and the latin americas look at the wigans and the liverpools and the arsenals and the rest of em 44% to choose from it states it there no home grown talent and the clubs know it too the structure of wages has to be dealt with to create these players in other words force the clubs hand to do it

You obviously never read my reply properly, as the link with my reply is the influx of foreign players will have a knock on effect for not just England, but the home nations too. I'll explain in simple terms 'if we decrease the amount of foreigners, it MAY make the home grown players stronger and thus the national sides. I was agreeing with you mate and also championing your country and the others stating they are being frozen out of the EPL.

I've then re-read your reply to my reply 5 times, and I'm still struggling

I'm not convinced that there isn't something deeper happening here.

All of the england squad ply their trade in what is supposedly the best league in the world - the Premiership. All bar a couple made a piss poor showing in the world cup showing nothing like their club form.

Can you name another Engish based foreign footballer that currently plays in the premiership (apart from Tevez) who has actually shown anything like club form over the past 2 weeks?

Anelka? Drogshit? Anyone?

The Korean from Man Utd has been ok, as have Skrtel and Vidic but nowhere near what we've seen in the domestic season.

Does our top league suck the life out of international players?
