Can anyone clarify what the reference to Dumbuya and taking a loan at the end of the contract meant? I'm afraid that I really didn't understand that. Is he staying or going?

Confused me too. I took it as that he has a six month option to stay on loan but on loan from who? I thought we had signed him for a year last summer.

glad it wasnt just me perplexed by that reference!

got me stumped as well!

The thread title more relevant than i thought then, because that loan option is very confusing
-
Have to say, that loan option is a weird phrase.

It sort of implies that he had a clause to extend by six months and it reads as though we didnt have much choice in it.Clark is strange as well giving him 6 month non contract yet saying he will move on eventually. He must still be getting paid by the club else it would say he is just training with us.
I have to say im not a big believer in doing favours by keeping them around the place,i may be a heartless git but id rather have a nice tight nit squad where everybody knows there job without the possibility of slacking off as theres nothing to play for.

It sounds like we are trying to help Clark stay fit while he finds another club instead of just kicking him out. I don't think he'd be slacking in training, I imagine he'd probably be grateful for the opportunity to train with a good team.

mind you suppose it means we can play him if we need to, another body at minimum. also, no mention of hird? or have i missed something?

SOD said that there were two benefits. One for him, so that he can keep fit whilst looking for another club and for us, to help us through the friendlies.
With a limited squad, he will be able to make up the numbers so the contracted players are not overplayed in the build up to the start of the season.

The latest entry on the Official site gives a good look into the Trialist situation and SOD's views on these and future ones.

Going back to the topic of the sudden surge in stories published on the official site, as one of its' 'biggest critics I also like to give credit where it's due and today it's been really interesting and insightful. I just wish/hope they would keep it up. I don't think anyone would expect the amount of new items and features that have come out today, but a steady flow of similarly compiled and sourced items would make the site worth reading and visiting on a regular basis.
