A sample for a Rate The Ref idea for next season. What do you all think?
-
good idea, although I wouldn't expect many to get an average of more that 3?
-
I like it. There needs to be an option for 'zero' though, for when the referees inevitably have total shockers where they make not a single correct decision. Can you imagine the score Russell would have got last week?
Would this maybe work better as a sub-forum within another section like say the Lucky Pint or the main Rovers chat?
-
Thanks RA. I'll add a "f'kin useless" big fat zero option. Moved it to be a subforum of Viking Chat too. Lets see how that works.
-
Good idea this. On Foy he actually did alright and got most things spot on, just that tackle on Copps he didn't give but he was wrongside and the ball did go the other way (though it was Copps who kicked it) so understandable how he could have got it wrong.
-
I likes it boys.
You can also stick the ref under categories:
Went by un-noticed so must be a decent Ref
Ref who made a few honest mistakes, but in the main...
Inept Ref
Complete Homer and taken in by the home fans Ref
Complete t**t and taken in by the bigger club mentality Ref
Kitson.

After the joker from the Pompey game will there be minus points?

I know we have history with him but I thought he was quite good, hence a 4.
The lino on the Main Stand side would have rated only a 2. Very indecisive on whether it was a corner or goal kick on more than one occasion- although on the highlights I noticed he flagged for the penalty (I think the ref gave it off his own bat anyway.)
-
Thanks for that thought, Baroni.
Does "Rate The Ref" need expanding to be "Opinions on Officials"?
The linos on Saturday were John Flynn from Wiltshire and Ceri Richards from Carmarthenshire
-
I think Rate the Ref would probably be sufficient, but maybe that's just me who doesn't feel the need to expand it to the linos.
-
I suppose the thread below the poll is sufficient to explain just how poor linesmen are.
Especially that fat useless chuffer we had in front of the West Stand v Derby.

.... and the lowest Points scorer each game gets the Knobhead award
