For the football gods read those who appoint match officials! I suppose they could really take the p*ss and send us Mr Russell.
One thing worth bearing in mind about Mr Coote was that he did OK until the last 20 minutes, after which he started to be influenced by 3000 odd noisy Blunts. If ever there was a reason to make some noise on Saturday, this is it.

Aye, you are right TRB. He did get influenced by the crowd. I'm not convinced he actually saw the tangle with Billy and the Sheff U full back. We need to ensure the crowd claims for everything.

I wouldn't put him in charge of a whelk stall, let alone referee development. In the first half he was the biggest problem we had- far more than anything Tranmere offered. When he gave Robinson that free kick for the most blatant dive I've ever seen, I really thought he'd had money on an away win.
Improved a bit in the second- hence the 1 rather than 0. Maybe Flynn or someone else got in his ear at half time. Clearly he's one of the FA's blue eyed boys, because in reality he's not good enough to referee on the Contributory Leagues.

Did you notice when the goal went in he checked with BOTH linesmen, before signalling back to the centre spot. How the one on the east stand could have spotted any infringement I have no idea. Seemed to me that he was dying to find a reason not to give the goal.

I didn't notice that, but if I had done I'd have been even more angry with him- and probably have given the "Mr Russell" zero.

Shite, he got at least 4 or 5 throw in or corner/goal kick decisions blatantly wrong. Plus that dive and gave Brown nowt..

Poor ref but not the worse we had no ref seems bothered about where the throw in is taken from in relation to where it went out
PLUS all the time wasting from the trannies keeper in first half was shocking he soon hurried up at one nil down

I've got just as much an issue with the Lino's we've been getting of late. Especially on the West Stand side. They have been garbage, make regular wrong calls and never correct any incorrect decision made by the ref(s).
Referees assistant(s)? Referees sheep more like!!
