Post by: Haxey-Hood-DRFC on March 25, 2017, 09:58:47 pm
Guessing most of you are planning for the 10:29 departure and 15:39 return? Currently debating whether to opt for coach or train travel.

Which trains are direct without stopping at every village on the way? Is anyone going on the train for starters. I am.

I think what ever train you are on back the bill will try and round you up straight away and put you on the 1st train back so could be rather packed unless they are gonna put more carriages on

You have two hopes of British Rail putting on extra trains or carriages

Bob hope and no hope

They don't have any spare rolling stock to do so .

So 1st train back after game will be rammed

The Transpennine Express (Man Airport to Cleethorpes) does Donny to Scunny without stopping but then calls at lots of Stations after that.

If you catch the slower Train it Stations to Scunny - BUT - it terminates at Scunny and you then transfer to the Transpennine for the rest of the way (see above)

From Donny I would deffo go TPE as it is quicker by far and a much "nicer" Train. I think you can upgrade to First Class for Fiver e/w as well
