Title: An absolutely great interview
Post by: selby on December 17, 2017, 11:16:38 am
By Alan Brazil with Wayne Rooney on talksport this morning. one of the most interesting and wide ranging I have listened to since Parkinson.
Very honest about his off field troubles, and playing with England. But the thing that really caught my attention was a statement about when he first went to Man. U.
Fergie told him he was running around too much, that he didnt want him to do that, but be ready to take the big moments when a chance came in the box.
Did Fergie senior touch on a subject that could help Alfie May.

I know Fergie Jr has told May he doesn’t want him dropping back and getting involved in the build up play.

Backs up my observation from behind the dugout on Saturday. He visibly signalled to Marquis and Mandeville to stay up the field when they started to drop back when Mandeville first went on.
My friend mentioned that one could do with helping out, as we were tired and getting overrun in that area.
