A huge improvement on the last two referees. My only complaint was that twice he didn't allow Joe Wright to return after treatment when we were defending corners. They scored from the second of them.

Fergie was having a real go at the fourth official so it is possible he didn't tell the ref that Wright was ready to go on.

And no doubt we will be back down to Earth on Tuesday night with Mr Illderton

Iderton already has a zero on the vote chart.

He also got the decision not to award a foul against Marquis (and possible red card, but yellow would've been fair too) when he was through on goal late on.

The player had already been booked, so would have been a red anyway.

Overall, the referee had a fair game, but did get some things wrong, so a 2 from me.

For their first goal it should have been a goal kick.
He was constantly checking wright for blood at every opportunity to get him off for treatment and didn’t let him back on for the second goal.
Let the foul on Marquis go towards the end when clean through and think he then gave them the kick just after.

He did have the balls to let his Lino make a decision for our second so that’s a redeemer.
