Not seen this mentioned, looks like we're getting a new real ale in the BVB and as you'd imagine, there's a vote on the name.

mmmm. Real Ale. We play once every 2 weeks plus night games. Real Ale needs a short turnover to make it viable otherwise it goes stale and undrinkable. If, and its a masive if, we do it spot on, perfect, brilliant and all in favour. I really fear for the standard. Joined CAMRA in the 70's so if anyone thinks its something I am not aware of think I have the pedigree (Marstons on Satdi? - Burton eh) Remember Brighton first game at AMEX, Harveys in very small casks in the alcoves, once sold all gone. Economy of scale, will we follow the similar model or set ourselves up to fail? I sincerely hope not but given the mess up at half time re beer sales not encouraged!

Quite a few clubs are already have real ale at football grounds. Accrington and Burnley have a partnership with bowland brewery on matchdays and seems to be a success. Barnsley having real ale at Redferns bar,Leyton Orient doing CAMRA discount in the clubhouse,Exeter having a real ale and cider bar plus Sheffield Wednesday have Wednesday pale with thornbridge and have 6 rotating casks,but that opens 7 days a week as they have race nights,quiz nights and open Mic plus private functions during week at the Wednesday tap. I do real ale pubs away days on Twitter and notice a lot of clubs are seeing how popular real ale and craft beers have become last few years with Spurs doing Beaverton at the new stadium. I can see it being a success here as long they have a partnership with a local brewery like imperial in Mexborough,Great heck just north of Donny,Doncaster Brewery or hilltop in conisborough or wellbeck Abbey in Worksop and having someone behind the bar very knowledgeable about real ales. I think this is great news as I always go in town before games for good beer.

Also Colchester had Real Ale when we played them in that early Season Game complete with Fan Park so it can work. Club must have looked into the Pros and Cons but surely Centreplate must be in for a cut as they would surely lose some sales

could they upgrade 1879 to a craft beer? It is essentially just boddingtons re-branded. IF we had a dark and a light ale then I can see both being popular no matter their names

Ah but we might not have for much longer ..... not a rumour .... not mischief ... and comes from no knowledge
Just a fact when Shrewsbury etc have changed their names to ever more contrived ones ! Probably why Castle Ale good as it is should not be "it" in case in a year or two we become the "Asda" Stadium or the "Subway Sandwich Stadium" or similar
I am not a fan of revering one Player either - even one as legendary as JC26. We named the Bars after several Players rather than singleing out one.
Not a fan of going for more Belle Vue nostalgia either. That Chapter has closed - we have moved on - and lets face it the Beer whatever it is called will be served in The Belle Vue Bar so surely that would suffice ?
As DearneValleyRover identified it might have been an idea (and may still be) to allow other suggestions in on the basis of there may be a real "winner" waiting in someones head. Personally I have scratched mine since I saw this item and have come up with next to nowt
Best (or more correctly the only) one I thought of Good Header ? A football and Beer related name but about as good as the rest on the list !
My opinions though are just my own - others may disagree with my thoughts - and some others agree - I suppose thats life

Remember the fan park at Colchester which also had live bands. Can see why the Club are bringing this in to get people to keepmoat early seemed a success at Wycombe game last week with bringing street food in this season. As for real Ale Ian Blaylock at Donny Brewery names he's beers with things related to the town like Sandhouse,Sandell park V5,Cheswold bitter ect so would be ideal fitting to have Donny brewery on board at Belle vue Bar.

As i am from Mexborough know Andy well at Concertina brewery, and know of Imperial there as well. We need to see how such as Burnley etc do their stock ordering as well as delivery quantity etc. It has been said that beer at some is enhanced by extra activities in said venues. In reality who seriously goes for a drink in the Belle Vue Bar outside of match days? I am 110% in favour of this if it is done properly. What I don't want is well we tried ...and failed because it wasn't thought out, Don't forget 1879 was on draught before that failed. I used to call in the Toad across the road when it ws open.... that failed. Not pessimistic just realistic. If we do it we do it properly by well informed real ale afficiendos, sorry but someone who drinks Carling, and that is their choice, has no idea how to consider intrfoducing real ale its an art in its self...tapping spiling etc...

I suggested "Mild Rover" wuld be good if we had a Mild Beer but they are much less fasjionable these days but that got me thinking

Norwich have Woodfordes as a major sponsor and here is their "Red" at the bottom
Then the name would be much easler to choose as we would have all the names with "Red" or "Reds" to go at
