J5' John Marquis arrives late at the back post to head past Crowe to give the visitors an early lead.

#pnefc 0-1

5' Matty Blair's superb work down the right to get past his man is rewarded, with his cross finding John Marquis at the back post and he nods home from six yards out. 0-1 #PREDON #DRFC

preston are doing that annoying little "professional" trick to stand in front of the ball when they concede a free-kick; pisses me right off! Surely we should just kick it at the player and they should get booked for being within 10 yards?

I wouldn't worry - when it gets to the 95th minute and its one nil we will deploy all sorts of shithousery to waste time :-)

We're playing this brilliantly.

Pressing hard. Breaking fast.

Crawford is looking better every game. He's constantly in defenders' and midfielders' faces. Reminds me of the Penney 03/04 approach. Green, McIndoe, Ravenhill, Blundell never giving the other side a moment when they had the ball.

At least comfortably covered

Should have been a pen with that foul on Butler.

Our passing isn't great, players a little hyped up and the constant Preston niggling is making it hard - good lessons for playing Championship sides. My worry is we have worked far harder than they have. If we are still ahead, it will  be a nervy finish with us defending deep. On the positive, I can see us getting a pen or a sending off for them if we stretch them enough on the counter.

It should - three poor decisions second half by our forwards. Should be home and hosed by now.

87' The ball is launched forward and both Preston goalkeeper Crowe and defender Storey hesitate and Mallik Wilks is the man on the spot to keep his composure and slot in to the empty net. 1-3 #PREDON #DRFC

Wilks missed a sitter apparently
Definitely not a sitter, tight angle and defender bearing down.
To square to marquis was as equally hard, he made the right choice .

He didn’t look up. A simple slip to Marquis and it’s 2-0.

Said the same at the time.
Tap in for JM if he had looked up.

I just had a read of the PNE version of our TLOD match day thread.
They obviously gave their team a battering on there but one poster saw us as a big, physical and well organised team.
When Copps came on there were a few posts about him, mostly showing concern and saying that he had caused them loads of problems in the past.
