Post by: NickDRFC on February 12, 2019, 08:18:35 pm: We were dominated for the first ten minutes but scored from nowhere (great cross from Copps, non-existent marking and Marquis did the rest). Have looked more settled since then and had one or two other half chances. Crawford looking busy and Andrew getting forward well. Southend still look a decent side though so need to be on our game.

Post by: Beerseller on February 12, 2019, 08:41:51 pm: We’ve grown into this. Not a match for the purists but we have had a couple of occasions where we’ve shown we can play football.

Southend are energetic and can play a bit but we are much the better side overall.

No player has particularly stood out for me though from where I’m sitting in the eastern half of the south stand I’m pretty impressed by young Aaron Lewis. Composed on the ball and prepared to battle. Only fault he’s shown is looking round for an offside when he’d have been better keeping his eye on his man and he may then have escaped the tackle that brought his booking.
