Imo, other than Marquis, Whiteman is our best and most important player.
-
We’ve had a great team performance, not sure it’s worth turning it into a criticism on certain players? Kane was one of our poorer players tonight but he’s got a big role to play in the next dozen games (that’s right I’m counting 2 playoff semis and the final YOU REDS)

I thought Coppinger was outstanding, especially considering he's almost an octogenarian!

Not a criticism by any means, Kane is a good player but sometimes I don’t think Whiteman gets the credit he desverves.
-
Kane is young lad and has probably burned himself out for this season. By no means bad performances but he has likely topped off after playing full throttle in so many games.
-
Is'nt kane carrying an injury? If so,if he was'nt such a integrel part of our midfield this season,I think he would have been sidelined until he had appropriate treatment or recovered fully.
-
I think he is burning out, would agree with that. A few weeks out would do no harm.

Has been carrying an injury - and has been watching himself as he was on 9 Yellows but is now clear of that "threat" at least
-
We will need Kane at Luton but then give him a rest against Bristol and Walsall. It is the first time he has had to cope with these demands with the amount of games hes played and I think a rest will do him good. We need him firing for the last stretch of the season.

Good to check the Disciplinary Site last night (sad I know) and see nothing posted on 1 Game away tab

Has the limit of yellow cards now gone up to 15 for Kane, Whiteman and Butler? If so I think it’ll make a massive difference!
-
Kane’s form has dipped a bit which is understandable with it being his first season in men’s football. He’s got more talent in his left knacker than Whiteman has got though. That’s not crabbing Whiteman either. I was a fan of his when he was getting pelters last season.

I am not sure tbh - but they have disappeared from the "One Caution away" tab so I suspect they can now accrue Cards 10 to 14 with no punishment but will get a 3 Game ban if they make it to 15
That seems to make sense

Strange how we went from playing through the midfield in first half, to lumping balls up front in second half. Some very ‘hopeful’ balls t**tted up front in last 20 mins.
-
We had four forwards on the pitch at the end .
-
That is one of McCanns best traits.
He only ever makes positive, attacking substitutions.
The only defensive one I can remember him making was bringing Joe Wright on for the last few moments of a game, might have been the Oldham one.
He did bring Blair on for Lewis once but that was an attacking ploy against a Peterbro who had gone down to ten players.

“#BarnsleyFC midfielder Kenny Dougall has broken his leg. The club haven’t given a timescale on his injury absence but it’s fair to say his season is done. Big shame with Moore also done for the campaign but at least Brown & McGeehan return this weekend.”
Heard the broken leg was caused by a tackle from Whiteman?

It was Whiteman, but wasn't a tackle. He was shooting and their lad slid in, it was just an unfortunate accident.
-
That's how I saw it as well Nick.
He was only looking at the ball to hit it. No intent on injuring/fouling Dougall at all.
-
It was a good old fashioned 50/50 tackle.
A shame for Dougall but no blame opportioned to Whiteman.

Looked like Rowe to me
-
Definitely Ben.
-
Nah it was Whiteman, he was running onto the ball for a first time shot about 30 yards out and Dougall threw himself across the path of it, right in front of Whiteman. There was obviously an unfortunate collision of foot and leg, bit of a 50/50 crunch really and Dougall obviously sustained a leg fracture in the process. Unfortunate but completely inadvertent.
-
Was he the lad who kept sitting down before finally going off ? Would explain it if so
Definitely no intent/dirtyness from Ben
Wonder if he watched a recording of our game at Oakwell in the fog ???
At this rate Barnsley will struggle to have a team for the play offs
-
He was that lad.
-
Ben also a doubt for Saturday hopefully he will be ok
