Title: Sunlan v Donny
Post by: Bristol Red Rover on April 19, 2019, 03:45:26 pm
The pressure on Sunlan is building with Barnsley and Pompey winning so far. Try as they might to focus on the game with us, their players and staff will have an eye on those games, and if results end that way the Sunlan fans will be much more nervous, all of which can only be good for us.

Waiting on that team sheet...

Good afternoon everyone. Big game, Sunderland favourites to win. However, all the pressure is on them, especially since they lost to Coventry in the last home game. I think we can nick a win.

Does anyone know if the game is being shown live in Canada?

Does not seem that way. I can't access it. Disappointing.

Bl**dy Woolmer

Clear foul on Marquis, probably in the area, not given and Sunderland go up the other end and score  :headbang:

Now a missed handball by Sunderland defender in the area - but tbf it was difficult to see real time.

After all their bluster of the first 15, Sunderland are definitely nervy.

This commentator is anoying "After 550 games, Butler knew exactly what he was doing" wth that arm up for leverage.

Marosi coming for a ball he had no right to. 2-0. Soft goal to end all soft goals.

The goals against Coventry were almost all from players running st their lumbering defenders. We have not done that once.

Foul on John was outside the box but definite foul as was the 2nd foul on John Marquosi as the commentator is calling John

Copps not looking hos best and kane not clicking with those in front of him. Marosi had no right to go for that ball that lead to their 2nd. Near capacity here in away end but 2nd goal certainly lowered volume. Still Don't rate Sunderland after that 1st half tbh though. Changes needed at half time for us.
Title: Re: Sunlan v Donny
Post by: PDX_Rover on April 19, 2019, 06:14:30 pm
They need a proper bollocking. Marosi - what the f**k? At 1-0, they were nervous. You could see it. Crowd quiet.

Whiteman doesn’t look fit at all. There’s no zip to our game. I’d revert to our formation from the last game. Withdraw Ben.

We need to get the ball down and get running st them. That what Cov did to great effect. We’re far too ponderous in our build up.

Sunderland will try and get an early goal to kill the game off.

Woolmer has be predictably biased but that doesn’t detract from the fact that we’ve been woeful.

We've been poor. No other way to describe it. A couple of decision could of gone our way and changed things. We have to be better. Big half for the whole team

Good to have Don Goodman making comments. More accurate, more balanced, more inciteful, more knowledgable, than this shite commentator.

Unrelated to our performance but Woolmer has given us absolutely nothing.

Sunderland are winning too many of the one on ones, but if we get the rub of the green and get a goal I can see them losing enough confidence to make a difference.

Agree. We don’t deserve it but the job is harder against 12 men. The commentator over here on ESPN is deluded. He says Sunderland fans have been in full voice all game... eh?

Weren’t in that game from the first whistle. Whiteman very rusty and front line all dominated. Didn’t think I’d ever say it but thank god for Fleetwood!

Can’t disagree with that. I don’t know why GM changed the team.

Never got going against a Sunderland team who at 1-0 still looked fragile imho. Gifted them the second goal. McCann needs to have a long hard think and a conversation with the team after that, because we’re better than this and we gave them an easy victory.

The less said about Andy Woolmer the better. Penalties change games, and even though we didn’t deserve a goal, to be denied at least two penalties is rough.

The focus now is on making sure we don’t f**k up and secure 6th spot. After that, it doesn’t matter who we play does it really. I’d prefer Pompey or pushed but....

Poor first half, poor goal keeping from Marosi for the second. But ultimately beaten by a better team and a shockingly bad ref

Onwards and upwards
