Today I thought the lad had a really good game he ran out of steam just before he came off which was only to be expected considering the conditions - I will admit to being a tad worried when I saw he was playing instead of Sheaf but I was delighted to see such a composed performance from the boy
-
Went down with cramp near the end, good performance though,
-
Did very well alongside Ben. Got stuck in, tidied up well. A good performance
-
I had to watch this on iFollow which isn't ideal and you don't get an kind of sense of what a player is or isn't doing off the ball. But, I thought he did OK although I might have had fresh legs on a bit sooner for him. A step up from previous performances.
-
Better than Rochdale but not good enough currently
-
Did some things people wont have noticed, pretty sure he won the ball to start he original attack for the winner.
He played alright and his mobility offered us more than Sheaf imo.
-
Was worried he was going to get sent off, had 2 fouls after his yellow and ref warned him. But played much better.
-
Those supporters who had consigned him to our U23 team can think again.
He had a good solid game today and looked very comfortable.
-
Didn’t move the ball quick enough and gave away possession too easily. Him and Halliday was the weakest players for me but still a great team performance overall.

He's still awful

Awful enough to get a standing ovation when he came round in front of the South Stand.
-
Darren Moore is giving both Madge and Alfie confidence in his support for them .
-
Much better game from the lad. He didn't pass the ball quick enough at times (as Joe Wright pointed out in commentary) and there were several mispasses/communications with his team mates, but he looked better in centre mid than out on the wing.
He's not a regular starter for me however, his development needs to be much more progressive.

Nothing positive to say eh Brian?

He did well today and I was delighted to see him get a good reception after he went off. That should’ve done a lot for his confidence after the pathetic reaction of some of our fans at Rochdale.
He still has a lot to learn and was on a tightrope for a second yellow after some questionably timed challenges. But he came in and did a job today and that itself shows some promise.
-
Hold my hand up. I was one who thought he wasn't up to it but he proved me wrong today. Quite deceptive and definitely put a shift in and showed some decent passing.
-
Did alright on the ball actually, but off the ball I thought the game passed him by a bit. Still looks a bit slow to react when we don’t have the ball.
Even so, he was much better than previous games. I did worry he was going to get himself a second yellow card and I felt Moore probably needed to get him off as he was pulling out of challenges a bit trying not to get booked.

He's having a crap day, we did just win afterall.

Madger was very good taday in that central role. He chased down the ball, forced errors and tracked runners when we didn't have the ball. Worked very hard indeed and gave us a platform to play on. One of the standout performances of the game for me. Well done, Madger lad.

Could you not do something better than coming on here boring everyone? This is a fans forum and you’re not a fan!
-
Everyone ignore Esdaille. He is just obviously attention seeking with his pathetic posts.
Ignore him and he might disappear.
-
Gomes did well today, I really wanted him taken off though before he went off as I felt sure he was going to get a second yellow

Pitiful. Utterly pitiful.
That's you, not Gomes. This deep need to f**king complain.

He's a narcissist

He was much better today didn’t do much wrong at all, will be pleased to be proved wrong
-
More mobile than sheaf but jury's still out
-
I always believe in giving credit where credit is due & Gomes today was excellent - linked up well with Ben, found his passes & got stuck in before his yellow card
-
Gomes did well today, worked hard and with Darren's coaching will keep improving.

Well you certainly don’t know your football! You’re a clown son!

Did well today, most frustrating part is, after 67 mins against Gillingham and 78mins at Rochdale many of our fans have decided he will be this seasons fall guy, give him a chance and get behind the lad, he's only young, let's try and build his confidence as opposed to destroying it.

I thought that was a nice touch from the fans Hound, but I honestly think a lot of it was mainly to encourage the lad after the terrible stick he'd received at Rochdale.
-
I thought he got stuck in and won some tackles first half and never gave up . Couldnt work out was he playing center mid ? Maybe not his position?
I think he’ll come good
-
Hard not to like the lad, especially if you follow him on Twitter. Something quite endearing about how he tries to express his excitement. He is 22 and must have left home as a teenager and been all over the place. God only knows what he makes of Donny. Echo that said above, let’s build him up!
-
Did well, wasn't perfect but in an unfamiliar role he acquitted himself well. Had a hand in both goals, Whiteman played it to him with three players coming at him and he calmly fed it back to Lawlor, who kicked it down field for Ennis to get onto and smash in the opener.
-
And what a kick that was. Not a hoof. A proper pass. With a touch of left to right spin to take it away from the defender and into Ennis's path. Superb kick from Lawlor. Artistry.

He is a central midfielder by trade isn’t he?

He's played wide attacking midfield for us in every game so far, including pre-season so that's why I say unfamiliar role for him today.

Spadger Gomes.
