Title: Rovers v MK
Post by: DonnyOsmond on September 12, 2020, 02:04:15 pm
Bursik
Halliday
James
Wright
Anderson
Whiteman
Gomes
Richards
Taylor
Tulloch
John-Jules

Bench: Jones, Amos, John, Williams, Coppinger, Okenabirhie, Lokilo

Thought Okenabirhie would start!

Been a while since we've had a bench that strong.
Some good game changers on there.

Is this our youngest ever starting XI?
Title: Re: Rovers v MK
Post by: DonnyBazR0ver on September 12, 2020, 02:23:47 pm
Didn't see that coming!

Might be Fejiri has a slight knock, we don't know what's in DM's thinking and surprised Copps on bench too.

Keep saying though, if we can play well without Copps then things are looking good!

either i am stupid (don't answer that)  or that squad looks frightening ---  got me dreaming of that season Rovers somehow played the first two matches of the season BOTH at home and won both 4-0 (one against Hartlepool) and the rest was history ......... dreams are still "tax -free" under this government

the word "ringers" in the team comes to mind.

Would have liked Copps to be the glue that gives the front players some direction, guile and experience. I'm sure DM knows what he's doing so I hope we attack with purpose and not headless chickens!

Lincoln City on the Saturday then Hartlepool on the Tuesday..
A disappointing 2-1 loss at Southport the following Saturday. Their first victory in 20 matches.
That match saw our first ever substitution as Laurie Sheffield limped off.

We look very dangerous. A few games on when these have worked together more and we can terrorise this league.

Bursik's distribution is top class so far. Very impressed with him all round, looks a class above Dieng.

Taking too long to get shots off.

At the other end, we're letting them get to edge of our area too easily.

Stats wise we are 30/70 on possession and they have had 7 corners to nil by Rovers - is it that one-sided...?

We do look disjointed which is not surprising with the amount of debuts.  Alot of naivety out there.

I wouldn't say one sided. We're allowing them the ball and trying to counter but have lacked quality in their third.

No. He see's opportunities very quickly and is pretty accurate in getting the ball there including great length when needed.

John-Jules overhead kick was a good effort.

With new lads you need a bit of experience up top to help them but Taylor is sometimes as naive as they are.

They're not sure of their jobs yet without the ball and yes, we're missing the Sheaf back up for Whiteman but, we're only 45 mins into the season with bags of talent to be harnessed.

Gomes should be doing more.

Aye. Looks like the team was set up to deliver death by pace but can't really seem to get the ball into the dangerous areas so far.

Richards did brilliantly to deny MK what should have been a certain goal just before half time, other than that he hasn't really done anything. Having said that nobody else has either. I would have Copps and Feji on before too long in the second half if things don't improve.

John jules was offside but glad to see him willing to try hopefully we can get the early goal then make them come out more which should give more space at the back

Richards excellent tracking back and did a nice flick behind to unlock a good counter

Feel like we should of started wit the team that’s played more preseason bring the new lads in as the game gets on and make them earn their place rather than walking straight in after one day!

Imagine being a player of the club not in on loan who's put in the hard graft over the pre-season to then be left out for youngster brought in on loan with virtually no league experience and barely a training session with the squad under his belt. Not great man management that is it? Moore might and I'll repeat that, might be a good coach but without better man management I can't see how he'll go on to be a successful football manager.

Three one two and a good finish.

idler, that would have been the moment for a mass exodus, if the crowd had been in of course.
Given that we might be given exit  the stadium times when we are allowed back in, i wonder how the stewards will police the mass exit.
