Two points from me, only two loan players start, and now Jones plays that takes him over the threshold to prevent getting an emergency loan keeper in if we get an injury

Bold changes.  That's what management is about I guess.  They make some sense though. Balcombe is way off form, Richards played a lot of games.

Fact is that we could have played Jones the first time round if the manager felt he was good enough. Moore didn't, Butler clearly does. Shouldn't be leaving players out because of possible emergency loan situations that may never happen.

I wonder if Copps will play the 10 or Simms?

Balcombe’s been pretty poor since knocking Anderson out, right move for me. Can’t really argue with the rest of the team either.

Good to see jones playing. Balcombe seems to have lost confidence since he knocked out Anderson, opposition teams have been targeting him from set pieces since then.

Listening to butler yesterday, everyone has a clean slate and it’s all about attitude to the games AND training so it might be giving those on the bench a kick up the arse

Disappointed not to see Taylor Richards starting, a fantastic player who creates that magic.

Happy to Jones play, lets see how he does.

Maybe Butler, as such a recent part of the squad, wasn’t too happy with the loanees taking up so many starting places in the team.

Big decisions but he’s obviously not afraid to make them. Be interesting to see how we play.

Had a feeling he would give Copps a start. I bet he will be buzzing at the prospect of getting more game time.

First order to Jones should be. "if you pass to a defender who has 2 oppposition players on him, you will be subbed!!!",  Balcombe apparantly didn't get the message about how crazy that was?

You can only have 5 loanees in the squad - don’t think you could justify leaving Richards, Balcombe, Smith, Robertson or Sims out for him.

This has been coming with us to be fair, but it is better, I suppose the real truth will be in a few games, can we keep this up. I wasn't sure about the keeper, I thought he looked very nervous in the cup game earlier this year, but his distribution has been excellent so far.

Bostock has very little change of speed, but a bit like Copps he doesn't need it, I am slightly concerned about how many cards he will pick up though - he likes a two footer...

Smith has been the one who has disappointed me though, he has slowed the play up every time he gets it - this might be because the pass isn't on, I can't see the whole pitch.

Post by: big fat yorkshire pudding on March 02, 2021, 07:57:08 pm
It's just one half so not too carried away but far more intent and tempo in the game.  Much more forwards movement to the passing.  Hard to know if butler has changed that much but still a strong half.

He's keeping the ball moving with nice simple stuff. Stark contrast to when Richards hangs onto the ball wanting too many touches.

Well me and my brother agree that was a very enjoyable first half.
More pressing, more positive play, more tempo.

Interesting to hear Danny say that Butts has asked for ‘10 seconds of fury if we lose the ball, then back into our shape’.

You can see Butts’ philosophy all over the pitch tonight.

I was denied the opportunity to comment on the thread tonight because my iFollow stream was fifteen minutes behind live play and I didn’t want to know what was going to happen.
Does anyone know how that could come about please.

With regards to the game I thought we looked much better tonight than in recent weeks.
We were more aggressive, better movement off the ball and when we had possession we didn’t piss about with it across the back four time and again.

It also made me wonder why Moore didn’t want to play Copps in the starting line up, apart from when he was injured of course.

More of this please Butts.

On the bottom leftish there's a button to go back Live. Might have been worth doing at HT.

I was denied the opportunity to comment on the thread tonight because my iFollow stream was fifteen minutes behind live play and I didn’t want to know what was going to happen.
Does anyone know how that could come about please.

Cheers I will remember that for in case it happens again.
I still don’t understand how it could be so far behind though.
I usually find it is a minute or so late but never had this before.
