Signed for Blackpool- 3 year deal with option of another 12 month.
Good luck to him- great player and deserves his move- now lets go find his replacement.
-
Can't argue with him doing that and would lay no blame on us as a club either. Good luck Reece.
-
Was going to suggest I wonder if he's gone to disperse Hubby but he seems to be playing at LCB these days.
Good luck, James. Outstanding for 3 quarters of the season.
-
Good luck Reece James - Blackpool wouldn't have been most people's choice, but I suppose it's closer to home for him.....
-
We are a bigger club. But they are in the Championship. So it is a great move for him. No problem. Hope he does well. I think he will.
-
Good luck Reece decent move for him with a long contract

Not sure we are a bigger club, historically or even now tbh.
Good move for him. He's from Lancashire as well so presumably it's a good geographical move for him too.

Stanley Matthews etc

Both Reece and Halliday must have impressed other teams with their play for us to get fixed up quickly in a market that is as as competitive for players to get deals as it has ever been.
-
Brilliant deal for the lad! Safe guarded for the next 3 years minimum. Wish him all the best, he has been great for us over the last 2 years.
-
Good move for him. Wish him all the best.
-
Yes, good luck to him.
Players come and go all the time.

I know mate, I was making the same point as yourself

Deserves his crack at a higher level, so no begrudging his move. I hope the donkey lashers enjoy his performances as much as I have, and I wish him and his family good luck, health and happiness.

When James and Halliday played well, the team played well, both very good players when playing well, especially James, think he deserves Championships football, only let down was towards end of season, when he probably knew he was not staying. But several other players performances dropped too.Wish them both well, except if playing against us.
P.s, Glad he's not gone Wendies.

Obviously has his head screwed on
-
It's a good move for him, closer to his home base and a step up. I'm not so sure Blackpool will struggle as many expect, Critchley is a good coach and they have a bright side.
They are 1000% a bigger club than us also, any way you slice it. But it's the divisional difference that matters anyway.
-
He was true to his word and ignored the calls from DM in favour of a chance to play in the Championship. Apparently, there were other offers from League One clubs but they were never an option.
-
Thought they would be an option once they went up. Decent team. Good luck to him. Great player and deserves a step up.
-
I wonder if this changes Ritchie’s ‘3 or 4 contracted players’ scenario to 5 or 6?
Liam Hoden was suggesting, quite recently, that Halliday maybe replaced by a loanee. Not sure what the thinking on the left back slot would be.
-
I'm really sorry to see Reece leave but I wish him all the best at Blackpool.
It's a good move for him and certainly an excellent acquisition for Blackpool, to sign a player of Reece's ability on a 'free'.
-
Good luck to him at Blackpool, but you have admit he certainly downed tools in the last few matches
-
Like every one says its a good move for him but for me his time with us was tainted by his obvious lack of effort in the final few months. With that in mind I'm glad he's gone, we need better characters.
-

we arnt a bigger club then them at all
-
Will be interesting to see how he does- his stand out feature was that he was a passable L1 defender who could also do a more than adequate job in midfield- will be interesting to see if he is Championship quality in either role
-
Definitely nothing like a championship midfielder

Depends how you read it. If Seaman is to step up and be be first choice then, you wouldn't begrudge a loanee as back up.
-
Good player, but his lack of care and effort towards the end of the season was criminal. I assume he still took home his wages despite that lack of effort too.
As for Blackpool being a ‘bigger club’ I’m not sure what that means? Using some folks logic on here, Old Etonians are a bigger club than us because they’ve won the FA Cup.
-
Excellent player, but I would never again want to see him in a Rovers shirt after the way he ended the season. On your way son. I'd rather see honest triers who weren't as talented.
-

They are just about the biggest movers in the English game. If we were in the same division as them I reckon we are bigger than them.
-
First half of the season he was very good, 2nd very poor, surprised Blackpool have gone for him as for me they already have better players than him

Despite Darren Moore's stupid policy, you don't generally want to sign loanees to be back-ups. It's a waste of time for everyone involved - us, the player and their parent club. So if Liam Hoden's assertion of us looking for a loanee at right back, I'm sure they would be intended as first choice.
I don't think anyone should get bogged down by that "4 or 5" signings quote either. Wellens and the club will sign as many players as we need, and we need plenty.

Blackpool’s left back Luke Garbutt signed a new contract
