Here we go
For those of us not at the game if we do score could you let us know the scorer instead of just saying GOAL
TAREVERSO
-
When did we sign Tareverso? And how do you know he will score?
-
Interesting line up, as expected except Seaman in for Bogle. Not sure who lines up where - whether Seaman or Knoyle or indeed Gardner plays more advanced.
EDIT - according to Liam Hoden it’s Seaman playing wide left.
-
Line up:
-
Starting XI has 9 debutants, and adding Rowe 10 players who did not play a game for us last season.
Interesting selection of Seaman, presumably in midfield?
Let's hope for a new start - I feel an early goal either way would be more crucial than normal today.
COYR :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
Edit: Just seen above - Seaman wide left.
-
Didn't Seaman play in a more advanced role when he was on loan last season?

He did i seem to remember.

This is how Hoden has them set up:

I’d make it 9 debutants, perhaps you’re thinking Matt Smith played for us last year ;)
I don’t think Seaman played last year?
-
Big Tom is the only plauer from last season so it must be 10 debutants this 1st game
Rowe has to be classed as a debutant

Just edited it before you posted Nick. My mistake - one eye on the cricket

Seaman signed and loaned straight out, so yeah today is his competitive debut.

Not for me, a debut’s a first appearance and Rowe’s made well over a hundred for us already.
-
I have bought an audio pass, but can't navigate through to get it up and running. Any tips to do so?
-
Got it now, I think the link has just gone up.
-
I got the link but it all quiet
-
Same for me, 6 minutes to go and ....silence, no change to the broadcasting skills then!

Only game I can think of with a similar player turnaround was our first in the Conference. The starting XI also had 9 debutants, a player like Rowe who had just returned (Scott Maxfield) and only one from the previous season - Lee Warren
-
Still nothing here same shit different season
-
would be nice to hear the kick off
-
Away team commentary on now.
Shambles
-
away commentry working
-
Hold on to your hats.............good luck everyone. :scarf:

apparently Janso's girlfriend caught the bouquet at the wedding

Except it’s €11 … no commentary. Pathetic!
-
All the wokery delaying the kick off by 4 minutes
-
It would be nice if just a bit of money was spent by Rovers on having anybody, literally anybody who was competent enough to use their equipment.
-
Home commentary on
-
Afternoon all. Anyone tried using a VPN to get visual streaming?
-
The stats indicate that AFC W are having the better of it - that how it looks...?
-
What’s happened to our old commentator?
-
We look disjointed unsurprisingly. But give it time…

"Two Matt Smith's there's only two Matt Smiths" :)

They"ll get better when they learn each others names!
-
And the first Rovers player to be offside this season is ............................. Tommy Rowe.
Not the most obvious candidate
-
Fej is good on the commentary. He sounds like Lewis Hamilton…
-

They were but we’re coming into it more now. Pretty even overall though. No decent efforts on goal from either side
-
Wimbledon are playing like Fleetwood under Barton. Push, trips and blatant fouls to stop momentum.
Hartigan finally gets booked after 47 fouls…
-
Any of the new boys looking good Mark?
-

Wish he was as fast ! :) :)
-
More than a few stray passes, but we look ok. The referee is awful so far. Nice to see some things haven’t changed since last season…

-
Second best all over the pitch
-
Richie and Tom had a bit of a tiff towards the end
-
I think we are doing ok. Seaman is wide right. Dahlberg looks assured
-
“ Weren’t at the races first 20 minutes as they looked like the home side. We came into it after that and finished the stronger side without looking like scoring though. They had best chance with a one on one with our keeper who saved well and looks very assured”
From my dad who’s at the game, sounds like we grew as the half went on so hopefully we pick up where we left off.
-
Rovers need to get to know each other I think. They’re playing straight through us quite often.
We’re hoofing it up the wing to an empty space or losing the ball generally.
Williams and the new keeper seem to be doing well.
-
H/T
Dahlberg has been excellent.
We looked a bit rusty and disjointed to start but got better as the half progressed and ended on top IMHO.
Wimbledon have been very aggressive, to the point of playing spoilers really but hats off to them, it’s a good test for the lads, to be put under pressure quickly. We’ve been dispossessed a bit, and some players haven’t found their range yet.
Charlie Seaman and Barlow look good. High work rate and not afraid to run at players.
The ref has been poor. He’s missed a lot of niggly stuff and a few late hits, and Tiago has been pulled down at least once in the box, which should have been given as a penalty.
We’re growing into the game though.

1:0
-
Get in Seaman :that: :that: :that: :rtid: :rtid: :rtid: :rtid:
-
1-0
-
Cum on Seaman
-
Seaman … squirting the ball in
-
He's definitely an able Seaman !
-
Was it a good goal??
-
1:1
-
Bugger
-
I think their equaliser is offside.
-
Looked offside to me
-
Sounds like we're playing better with the changes?
-

What changes have happened?
-
Gardner for Bostock, Bogle and John for Barlow and Cukur.
-
Bostock, John and Bogle on. Rowe pushed into midfield
-
Referee still terrible. Bogle goes for a ball from a corner. The Wimbledon player jumps towards the ball and falls over. Little to no contact from Bogle… gives a f**king free kick.
You do wonder what they see, or don’t… bizarre.
-
Thanks
-
1-2
-
Oh dear
-
1-2
-
Game over? Rovers have to have some belief if they are to win this.
-
Refs losing us this game
-
What the hell was our player doing there laying on the ground at the back of the defensive wall? Bizarre !
-
Ref been shocking
-
Standard of ref’s has got no better
-
Referee wanting to be the star of the show. Absolute tw@t
-

It's a thng these days, happened in the Euros. There to block the ball as others in the wall jump. Makes sense.

It's a new thing, England did it this year's euros.
-

It's become a very modern thing - happened a lot in the Euros to counter the free kicks when players put it under a jumping wall. Think Gareth Roberts socred against Forest in 07/08 doing that.
(Does look ridiculous I grant you!)
-
Bostock must think he is grealish - socks rolled down. He must have kids shin pads on
-
It could be worse, we could have spent millions and then go down to Morecombe 2-1, I will give the Ipswich manager another 3 games before they sack him.

Paul Cook’s a very good, experienced manager at this level. There’s no way he’ll be jettisoned so quickly.
-
We’ve got worse as this half has progressed.
-
7 shots today, only one on target. Not good enough, we need finishers, or rather ouras need to be on shooting practice!
-
We have the same problem as last season at the end no pace and no creativity
-

They have new owners pumping in big cash & they will want a quick upturn in form. Especially after last season. It might not be after three games but if goes on for 8 or 10 i can see him getting sacked.
-
Well… I don’t think we deserved to lose but didn’t do enough to win. A draw would have been fair.
Rovers looked like a team of new players. There are positive signs there but we were far too sloppy and disjointed today. Way too many stray passes and caught in possession a lot. We will improve a lot.
The less said about the officials the better. Suffice to say their first goal looked clearly offside and there was all sorts going on in the melee that led to it.
The second goal… seemed harsh. I think the ref’s given handball. Have to see it again.
He gave us f**k all and let Wimbledon do what they wanted to. Dirty, bratty, niggly team… and they were given carte blanche to shithouse all game.
Tiago didn’t show much. He looks a yard off it.
Seaman, Dahlberg standouts. Smith looks handy. Barlow impressed. Rowe showed flashes of quality. CJ was good when he came on.
Overall, disappointed with the result, and Richie will have to figure out how to better teams like this who are aggressive and seek to break up anything, legally or otherwise.
Credit to Wimbledon. They had a plan and were allowed to execute it. But an ugly team to watch. I expect them to be down the bottom end.
-
Agree about the positives but I think unless we manage to sign a couple of loan players with some pace not much will change. They were a ugly team yes but sometimes that's what you need at this level, I wouldn't bet on us finishing higher than them for sure
-
Defence was breached twice , so that needs addressing first, whether it be 4-4-2 or some other formation….we need to buy time without conceding for these first few games until things can be worked out, and the injured can be integrated..
Not a problem but lessons have to learned quickly
-
Got to say, IMO that was a slight and only slight improvement on the end of last season. I’d like to say things can only get better but after last season I’m not so sure. But we lacked pace down the wings, lacked good passing with to many balls given away and we lacked created chances, there was next to nothing for the front men to work with.
Onwards and upwards

they call it the "draft excluder" position. Darren Moore could still do the draft excluder position at his age - (they sometimes call draft excluders snakes )
One day someone will wack the ball and it will hit the draft excluder person (on the floor) on the head and do him damage.

Ipswich got a late goal to sneak a draw.
