Tbf I didn’t shop around. I do have a Betfair account. But was online with skybet as I took advantage of the knocking boost they had on the Liverpool game. Salah to have one or more shots on tgt all game. Boosted from 1/8 to even money. It took 80 mins but it came good. Sky bet are good are boosted odd specials.

Miller has laid a few good balls off to Rowe to have a shot from just outside the area.

Title: Re: TLOD v Sutton
Post by: ScillyRover on August 06, 2022, 03:50:05 pm
Disappointing first half. A hangover of the defensive frailties of last season and not creative enough in midfield and from the front men.
Need to improve significantly all over the pitch if we are to get anything out of this.

There seems to be a lot of fouls ? By Sutton.
Title: Re: TLOD v Sutton
Post by: Redroy on August 06, 2022, 03:51:26 pm
A very poor last 25 mins after going behind. Probably understandably after last season.

Looks similar to last season where we look like we are going to concede every time they go forward. Could easily be 3 behind.

Post by: sedwardsdrfc on August 06, 2022, 03:52:33 pm
We are so narrow and Andrews just isn’t doing enough up there. Very easy for them so far GM needs to get us playing we can’t be starting this season poorly if he wants his job.

The 2 centre half’s for us are a joke they can’t be our 1st choice pairing by a long way

We started ok with a few good moves. We've fell in to their trap making it scrappy.  Need to wise up fast. A few poor performances too (oluwu, Biggins, Andrews spring to mind).

Absolutely shocking first half , need miller up the middle been a pest as it’s to easy for there defence to hit diagonals and there attackers win the flickons and there in

I just don’t get playing a diamond in midfield the lack of width plays straight into their hands. Hurst has been our best player abd he’d get more time out wide

GM making strange decisions again

It’s the usual tactical paralysis. Over analyzed before the game, come in half time behind, change tactics that haven’t worked, play better second half hopefully. Exactly the same as last season. Over analysis causes paralysis.

Business as usual I’m afraid. Mitchell MotM so far for a couple of cracking saves.

Defence are all over the place under pressure and we don’t seem to know what to do in front of goal either.

Hoping we’ll come out more settled and composed for the second half.

Our best performances on preseason is 4231 now we can’t play that due injuries that is wrong. We don’t have good enough cover to right of the 3 behind striker. Even when Tomlin is back we still don’t have a good enough player to play right. Although Hurst or Rowe could

How bad is this level of football? There are only 6 goals scored in the whole division at this point! It isn't only Rovers that are poor, but it shows we wouldn't have to improve to stand out. Pity we show no signs of it.

Over 180 minutes and few shots on target, you have to be fearful having sat through last season. Another week to try and sort some kind of idea about how to play this game. Very early days but we are well down the bottom half of the division

I have a feeling it’s going to be another long season.
We don’t have sufficient quality cover if the injured players do not return quickly
We don’t have a good right side player until Molyneux returns and then waiting for Taylor.
GMC said he sorry to see Okenabirhie go because he was a natural finisher which we didn’t have but we have not gone out to find one. Yes I’m glad we’ve signed the 18 year olds but their not ready yet we have 3 on the bench plus Ravenhill all supposed going on loan but they can’t.

One goal but it was odd how quickly how some people wrote off Agard after a couple of games and then injury.

But you must understand, when something goes wrong at Doncaster Rovers, it's always the end of the world!

I'm sure we've a lot of improvements to make and we all know about the injuries, but last weekend we fought for a clean sheet and a point and now battled until the end for 3.

Think what the results/points could be if we start playing well regularly :scarf:

we were 0-1 down going into added on time - folks would be up in arms if we hadn't changed tactics.

We won, yes we have improvements to make and injuries, but we won.

And that's great in my book.

A smash and grab raid that. Something we would not have seen last season or for a couple of seasons to be honest, a very different mentality seen in the players today. But, there’s always a but, we need to improve all over the pitch.

Onwards and upwards

We played like hot garbage for 90 minutes then managed to score two goals. Good to see the team keep their heads up and the reaction from the fans was something I haven’t seen for ages it was brilliant. GM even ran down the touch line and was hugging a fan after the 2nd goal.

It must suck to be a Sutton fan today, they deserved the win and it’s a long way home lol
