Any suggestions on parking?
Been told best bet is to park at one of the metro stations on the outskirts and get the mertro in.

We're thinking of doing that too. Heworth has a \"proper\" car park for the station and only a quid to park all day, but costs £2.90 return for Metro ticket to St James because you are going through 2 zones.
Stations in Zone 1, closer to St. James, are Felling, Gateshead Stadium and Gateshead. Tickets from these stations are only £1.90 but there are no public car parks at these stations.

Turn off A1 @ A168 then go up A19 thru Tunnel, been that way today, not noticed any roadworks, maybe 10-15 thru tyne tunnel tho, but that is the way I am going

Would imagine queues through tyne tunnel to be much worse on match days?
