I've always thought it would be a psychological boost to bring a goalkeeper on after full time just for a penalty shoot out.

In fact I'll go as far as to say the third keeper in the squad should be there solely for his ability to save spot kicks.

It's Johnson to Terry, Terry to Upson
Upson to Barry, Barry Gerrard
Gerrard to Milner, Milner to Rooney
Rooney to Defoe to nod.

I agree with Ant (I divven need nay butter) and Dec (it's guin in nice Ant), and if we adopt their analogy then it will be 5-1

contests like England v Germany in the World cup is what it's all about .. I hope we get a spectacle ... for the sake of the sport in general. The game needs it to efface the ugly scars left by the French.

We would have won that one if Bobby Charlton had not been substituted

I think its more relevant that we would have won if we hadnt subbed Banks for Bonetti

No it`s not, Taking Charlton off at 2-0, released Beckenbauer who was man marking Charlton

And surely Banksy was injured? He was due to come back in the next round I think.

Still, I've never liked Chelsea since :)

Well... We know what we are getting in Germany.  TBH I would prefer them to Ghana, who looked strong.  ZERO motivation needed for the England players to go out and prove themselves.

And they had a few hours of extra rest.

What could possibly go wrong?

We are certainly due a win in the knockout phases of a major competition against them thar Bosch.

Banks had food poisoning if i remember my trivia, Bonetti was a good keeper but even he doesn't know to this day how he let the 1st kraut goal in.

(before my time tho so im only going on what ive seen on the box)
