The Viking Supporter's Co-operative is pleased to announce that this year's Annual General Meeting will be held on the 21st November 2015 at 11AM ahead of the match against Rochdale.

The venue will once again be the Belle Vue Bar at the Keepmoat Stadium and all Doncaster Rovers fans are invited to attend. Non-VSC members are invited to observe proceedings and may join the trust once the AGM has been closed. If you would like to participate in the AGM make sure to join the VSC or renew your membership beforehand. Gavin Baldwin and Ryan Murrant will be in attendance for a Q&A session following the close of the AGM.

Nominations are open for a short time to become a director so please contact secretary@drfc-vsc.co.uk if you would like to join the board. VSC members can also be co-opted on to the board all year round, so if you have a few hours of spare time you can dedicate to working on the behalf of Doncaster Rovers' supporters and representing them in projects with the club and community, please contact any of the directors. Election to the VSC board is for a 2 year term, and the following directors are seeking re-election this year: Alan Roberts, Rob Clark.

The agenda for the AGM will be posted in the members section of the Viking Chat forum shortly. If you would like an agenda emailing out to you please email the secretary at secretary@drfc-vsc.co.uk.

If you're still wondering what is the point in a supporters trust, why should I join, what does a supporters trust do, here's a few words from Pam Wilkins, Vice-chair of the Portsmouth Supporters Trust:

"A few Pompey fans had talked about forming a trust for some years, it took a crisis to get it off the ground and within three years we had bought the club. We are now one of the very few financially sound Football League clubs. The simple explanation for why you should have a strong trust is this, without Pompey Supporters' Trust there would be no Portsmouth Football Club, it would have ceased to exist.

A strong trust should be pushing for supporter representation on the club board as a minimum. It is YOUR Club, don't risk losing it, come out from behind your keyboard and help".
Pam Wilkins PST Vice-Chair

Leeds is a local club surrounded by controversy at present, and many see it as imperative the fans have a strong trust to represent them:

"We at the Leeds Utd Supporters Trust would recommend that all supporters should be actively involved with their supporters trust, it makes for a stronger club, and one that can be held accountable if necessary. Being part of a strong supporters movement helps all clubs and supporters in numerous ways. As a fellow Yorkshire club we appreciate the value of a strong Doncaster Rovers and so we hope many supporters can play there part in the VSC."
Michael Green, LUST Chair.

If you haven't already joined the VSC it's just £12 for the year, which gives every member 1 share and 1 vote. Click here for more information.

Finally, the board would like to thank Andy Audsley, who left the board earlier this year, for his work as treasurer during a difficult period for the trust.

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM.
