Why you should always do a good deed

I was as usual at work on sunday when a scruffy little dog came into the shop, she had no tag on her collar and to be honest we had no clue what to do with her.

Paul tied her alongside the shop whilst we tried to find someone to take her, it's still quite busy round here and he was worried she would get run over.
I have to say I was shocked and disappointed by the indifference shown by the RSPCA, as far as he was concerned the dog was nothing to do with them.. And I quote, is there somewhere you can tie it for the night? No, we are a shop we cant keep a dog in here..well, can you take it home with you? No I have a small child and cats..(I don't think 4year olds and dogs mix)especially a dog I don't know..
I'm sory madam there is nothing we can do then. Here is a number for the council try them..

they too didn't want to know and passed me on to the police, who gave me the same number for the council.

So there we were with this little dog and no where for her to go. In the end Paul got his mum to take her.

Fast forward to yesterday when I ring the kids at lunch time , only for Stace to say mum, you should have took that dog home, Adam has seen a reward poster for £200.00!

Needless to say I was straight on the phone to Paul who I think broke the sound barrier getting back to Heacham, he came in all excited, Adam had got it wrong, it wasn't £200.00 it was £250.00!
Split three ways between Paul , his mum and myself We got £83 each. At the risk of sounding pretty sad, that is the most money I have ever had for nothing, the highest ever win on the lottery has only ever brought in £70..

Result or what?

strange that when somebody is more than happy to put up a reward for a lost dog for £250,but at the sametime there is no ID collar on the little mutt.

did the dog esacpe during its yearly bath time?

I aren't that keen on dogs either I have to be honest. I don't trust them and I just don't understand the whole a dog is a boys best friend bit either.. I would never have a dog in the house, (if I liked them) whilst Ty was little. Kids are naturally boisterous and I dont think it's fair on either child or dog.

As for Daisy (the little dog) I have to say you are right Oslo, it makes no sense to offer that large a reward but have no basic disk on the collar.
On an aside, there were two phone numbers, one belonging to the son of a well off car dealership family, so because we knew the name we rang him first. shifty little fooker tried to say there had been a mistake on the poster and it should have read £50.  

So we rang the other number and queried it..lol..I guess that is how the rich keep their cash, by diddling the little people.

I told Paul we should have said, pay the ransome or your dog comes back in installments...I have access to big knives.....
 
Actually she was really sweet, it's not very often I'm taken with a dog, but she was so cute.

Aparently someone round here is going round deliberately enticing dogs out of their gardens, sick sods, don't suppose they give a thought on the horror of losing a much loved pet..

The thing that makes me really mad about my little story is this.I contacted the RSPCA, the police, and the council trying to get some help, gave both my number and that of the shop to all three, now you cannot tell me that Daisy's owners didn't ring round, they must have been frantic, so why didn't my details get passed on. That is disgraceful.

 Me im a cat person, love my cats all six of em, just don't like dogs overly, they bark , they bite. they drool.yuk.

Short story

A few years back I found a beautiful little Dog
Wife fed her Smoked Salmon - dog stayed
I put up posters / advertised on TraxFM etc (someone HAD to be missing this dog)
Meantime we introduced her to Mother in Laws dog who gets on with everyone
4 days passed and they were inseprable but he just wanted a rut
I asked if ANYONE wanted her - nobody did
With traitorous and sad heart I took her to Cop Shop
They put her in stray box and said they would send her to Hampole kennels
Very next day Nephew said Unc I will have the dog until owner shows up
I ring Kennels and they agree I can take dog for \"£80\"
Reason is they have chipped her wormed her etc
\"they had also named her Scruffy\" - cheeky B's
I paid up the ransom happily - 80 quid for a free dog - but she has given their family years of entertainment !


A Year later I book a flight from Robin Hood on second day after opening
A week in Malaga for 27 quid
2 days later same Nephew rings
Hey unc I am getting Married in May - leave a Friday free
Bet is May 6th says I
How can you possibly know that its a secret says he
Just a hunch I said - just a hunch
So I paid about the same per person (25 quid or so) to come home 3 days earlier !!!

I said to nephew - if you are thinking of doing owt in future like have a dog or get married PLEASE tell me a day or so earlier

My Mum has got a racing pigeon that has spent the last 6 months eating her grub. He hurt himself somehow so she took pity on it. Being a responsible type she also rang the RSPCA, the local pigeon fanciers and such like. And you guessed it. Not a single bugger was interested. The pigeon fanciers did though suggest she read the number on its leg. 'Right', said Mum. 'I'll just shin up on the roof then to watch it fly away again as I approach the chuff. Then you can get a 78 year old woman with a knackered spine down again'. Not interested in the slightest.

Ohhh, I'm a dog lover and my daughter just adopted a dog a couple of months ago who is such a sweetie, which is amazing as he had been abandoned down south, was rescued by the friends of animals people and brought up north to an adoption clinic. He was just a puppy but was malnourished and mistreated.  He is doing well now but I think because he was starving when abandoned, he eats everything.  And I mean everything -- twigs, grass, paper, bark, berries on trees, in addition to the regular puppy chew toys like shoes and bones!  I just bought him a new bed, which he tore apart, and yes, ate!  But we love him and he's healthy, amazingly.
