So the proposed cuts to child allowance for high earners could be unworkable.....Well isn't that a suprise!

Bet they won't have any difficulty making cuts to the poorer peoples benefits tho.

Why do you punish yourself JB and read the Mail front to back. It clearly infuriates you to death with the shit that's in there. A better form of hate, might be to not read it on the net, or buy it. That'll hurt them more.

That said, wasn't it somebody who once said you should always know your enemy or keep your enemies closer than your friends........was it Stanley Ogden?

I figure it like this, thankfully everything they print is the  opposite of the way I think. sometimes it is good to see how the minds of others work...

The day I think like them is the day I hold a mirror to my face and alter what I see there.

I tend to have a warped fluffy bunny outlook on life, I always try to see the best in people. Perhaps I live in a little bubble. Reading the mail, or to be completely honest, the views of it's readership is facinating.

So far I have discovered this.. in no particular order..

They want to put immigrants in a boat and sink it.

they would never admit it out loud but they would quite cheerfully advocate the forced sterilisation of 'breeders' (lovely term.)

They loathe the skinny and ridicule anyone who gains 5 pounds in the public eye.

People who live in council houses are all workshy scrounging dregs..( even the ones like me who work till they drop..lol)

They have the most fantastic censorship system on the forums, almost  anyone who disagrees is blocked from posting..(I should know they never post my views..haha)

If any one does manage to get through with a sensible and balanced opinion they are red arrowed to death..

 Ah the list is endless..

Oooo I forgot one..

They aren't in the slightest bit racist, but they think England should only be for the Engilsh..( preferably 5th generation tory at least) If you can prove you had a picture of maggie on your wall as a kid to masterbate too, well, that makes you Mail aristoracy..

The thing is, I like the way the paper itself is laid out on line, and I would hope I am mature enough to not believe the way they spin things.
it's my only vice...
Some people enjoy watching horror movies, I enjoy (in a very grrr) way reading the thoughts of the truly horrible.

A nice thought. Won't help me though I'm sad to say. Alex's Child Benefit is paid to me as I am his custodian. As I am higher rate payer, even though there's only the one income in this household I shall lose it no matter what. I don't mind paying taxes, but I do resent unfair taxation like this. (I know it's not a 'tax' - it's shorthand) My one household income is not even close to two even half way decent incomes below the 40% threshold.

Dave and Nick, the spice girls of the 21st century....Practicing that old hit Two become one...

Even a mathematical moron such as myself can see the the equasion that makes a two income family more worthy of CB than a one parent one has been worked out by someone very special at the treasury..

For the first time tho I have to admit to a bit of a crush on Boris Johnson ..the little tinker. what an agitator..lol

Get yersen a Fillipina wife and tell her to keep schtum about your salary Bob.

Seriously, this is yet another example of a half-baked idea shot through in zero time with zero analysis by this lot.

As you say, a family with a sole working parent earning, say, £50k will be significantly less well off than a family with both partners earning £25k. Because the two lots of tax allowances in the second case and the fact that neither pays higher rate tax saves them about £2.5k in tax compared to the first case. Yet the first one will lose Family Alloawance and the second one won't.

Me, I'd say that BOTH families should pay higher taxes to help get us out of the current situation.

The problem, the REALLY worrying thing, is that the current Govt seems to have only ONE aim. All the Ministers have been told to go back to their Depts and find clever ways to save money. In double-quick time. Political careers are going to be formed and wrecked by how successful they are at doing this. That's why that little scrotum, Gove immediately went to the Press after a week of being in office releasing a list of school developments that were going to be cancelled. It was like the arse-licking t**t on the front row in class saying, \"Me, Me, Me! I know how to do it sir. MEEEE!\" Never-mind the fact that his civil servants were screaming at him to wait while they checked and doubled checked the facts, and he ended up having to make grovelling apologies immediately afterwards.

They are simply not considering the consequences of the cuts and the half-baked policies that they rush to announce to the press. We already have massive f**k-ups on school buildings, child benefit, housing benefit, with altered policies announced on the hoof as they realise the unintended consequences. I've never known a Government make so many silly, simple f**k-ups in the first 6 months of being in power. This is supposed to be the honeymoon period, in which they can do no wrong. Instead, they are looking like bumbling amateurs already.

God f**king help us when the cuts really start to bite and they start flailing around for ideas to re-buold their popularity.

This made me snigger I do love a spot of ironic humour.

Limit it or give to only the first 2 children only and DONT pay it to women under 20, this might cut down on teen pregnancy.
- Lin, Chester, 28/10/2010 20:00

Right on, and don't pay it to people north of Watford, that'll cut down the northern lefty votes. Oh, and don't give it to redheads, there are already too many gingers around. Left handed people, they're a blight too; what with their demands for special scissors and corkscrews. And the feeble minded, they are bound to issue feeble minded offspring who spend all their time thinging up stupid policies.
- Wanda Rinstar, Surrey, 29

You know, the one thing I have noticed reading the thoughts of the mail readers...It's the women who are truly vile.
