Burnley Directions

Any hints/tips how to get there tomorrow?

Looks a bit awkward, I'm leaving Leeds at 4:30 after work, but a bit unsure on the directions.

best bet either m62 and m66 past Bury onto m65 or come off at halifax and head for sowerby bridge and todmorden on a646 not a bad road if you dont get stuck behind anything shorter(20 miles) but maybe take  about same time.

And a word of warning - Burnley is officially the coldest I've ever been at a footy match.  A tuesday night match in 92ish (might have been an FA cup replay or summat).  I think we lost, but I was more concerned with not losing any fingers to frostbite.

Edit : Just checked. 19th November 1991.  Lost 2-0.  I've gone all cold just thinking about it.  And we got jumped down that alley coming out of the away end (side, rather).

Take the M62 then M66 and leave plenty of time.  Bit further that way but much better roads.  I work over that way and it has been raining constantly for the last 5-7 days.  Even the motorway had flooding when I drove home this evening.  Drive safely!

Its funny how it's colder over the pennines. Burnley, Preston, Blackburn et al, I'd advise you to take a winter jacket.

I bet the Lancs think we are soft gets on this side of the pennines

Yep, thats the one, Vic.  I had the heater in the car on full blast and was still sat in a block of ice by the time we got to the right side of Huddersfield.

I did that game too, and all I remember is the beer in the ground, can't remember what it was just that it was a great pint!

If I recall it was too cold for a pint and I rarely if ever say that. It'll be friggin freezing however Oldham and Blackburn take some beating as well.
Miss the away trip to Oldham though.  :(
