DRFC Transfer Roundup
« on February 01, 2011, 07:52:19 am by Al4475 »
First the good news, we appear to have lost no one - which means Stock, Copps, Sharp etc are here (unless loaned out) till the end of the season.

Second the bad news, we appear to have lost no one - which means we still have a plethora of 'not quite as good as we hoped' defenders o our books - including quite a few injured ones!

Third the even worse news, we appear to have lost no one - which also means we still have injury plagued strikers and one or two that won't make the grade at Championship Level with us.

More good news, Mills in for long-haul, one would hope this would lead to him being permanently on board next season! And the kid from Spain obviously has potential - we'll see if he'll cut it no doubt, or go the same way as Payne and Clark.

Disappointed there's no backup for Sulli - pleased however that that means SO'D and co do probably have faith in young Woods long-term.

There is of course the loan window now so we'll see if that holds anything - my guess (and it is only a guess) is probably not!

Neither too pleased or too excited about our dealings this window!

You've got to remember that we did most of our business in the early part of the window. with Kilgallon, Mason and Keegan coming in. I'm really pleased about the Mills signing- he's quality- and Burge is an interesting one.

I can see a few being loaned out if (when) the injury situation picks up.

Couple of deals that didn't go through were;

Ashley Cole to Real Madrid for 30 million plus unlimited texts.

Newcastle United looking for a target man put a 36 million bid in for Liverpools Andy Carroll.

Also Blackburn signed Formica, make your own jokes!

Defenders:-
With only one fully fit fullback and two others coming back fom long injuries and four fit so called centre halves then at the present no one can go on loan. Starting next week we could when others are fit loan out up to 92 days.
But with Dumbaye, Mills, Martis, Thomas, Kilgallon all out has yet and Chambers and Friend not fully fit then we still need all the players whether they are good enough or not.
Midfield:- With Oster,Keegan and possible the new lad Burge? we have only three fully fit central midfield players. We have Shiels and Mason but they are not players for the central role. Stock and Wilson may be available tonight? Woods and Gillett still injured.
Attacking midfielders and Strikers:-
We have Billy, Hayter, Copps, Shiels, Mason, Fairhurst and Brooker although some are either not ready for this level or not good enough, this is the fittest part of the squad, in numbers.
So when some of the eight / nine players who are injured or just back from injury are fit then loans out could happen.
