...9 months out with a cruciate & medial ligament injury, unlucky for the lad. Don't remember him having a significant bad injury during his time at DRFC.

Hope I'm wrong with this, but isn't he out of contract at Derby in the summer?
Seem to recall he signed a 3 year deal; and given their lack of success over that period, then I'd have expected him to run his contract down and leave on a Bosman.

I'd be amazed if they let him go, he's been one of their best players all season. I would have thought they have tied him up to an extension by now?

Has it been three years since he left already? Crikey.

According to Wikipedia he signed a 1 year extension to take him to the end of next season.

The start of the end I'm afraid. There's not many players of his style who come back as strong as when they left.

And a huge blow to Derby ahead of saturdays mind-numblingly dreary midlands derby against the cure for insomnia, Coventry!

Winners are safe, whilst the losers continue to look over their shoulder...

Given Coventry's \"agricultural\" approach to football, Derby needed some runners in their team to match the workrate.

I'm still bitter that he left us, but wish him all the best. Can't see him leaving, as benaldo says, he's been one of their consistant players throughout the campaign.

Why? He saw his contract out and he didn't badmouth us after he left. What's to be bitter about?

Don't get me wrong, there was no bitterness towards Greeny. He was a credit to Donny, always gave his all and I couldn't fault him for going where the money was better (it is a career at the end of the day).

When I say bitter, I meant of the fact we couldn't keep him 'cos I think if we cudda even nearly matched the offer he would have stayed.

Still... Could've been worse! He cudda gone to Leeds ;)
