These clubs are not taking any notice are they. Not a Premiership club, not even a club with a certain future seeing as they are playing with dirty money. Allegedly !

Walk right on by.

This story is plastered all over the Daily Mails sports page here in the USA. They now print daily here with the same news as in the UK and thay are just as bad as at home.

Maybe we can use the money for Sharpe to buy Shackwell. Or Boughennna.

At the risk of stating the obvious, selling Billy especially before the season has started is a major risk to Rovers. Some posters have already said they believe that signing Brown (and possibly Vine) is preparing for the day when Billy goes. The simple fact is that none of the remaining strikers has anything like Billy's scoring record in the league:

Chris Brown   0.17 goals per game

Rowan Vine    0.19

James Hayter  0.24

Billy Sharp   0.46

Of course none of us knows the conditions of Billy's contract, specifically what level any release clause kicks in (likely to be around £3m - £3.25?) and whether even the Blades are entitled to a sell on fee

When Billy does move on I feel we need a better goal scoring replacement than any of the above.

I do not want Billy to leave, but if he did go, the sort of cash we're talking would pave the way for the above mentioned players plus JET and even a gamble on a player who's been prolific in a lower league, for example A.L.F.

At £1m I expect JET will go to a mid/low table Premier team (eg Stoke, Wolves)

Wenger doesn't like selling to direct rivals though.

Seen that in the past - can't remember any examples though.

Hope we don't use it to bring McGammon back. Some of it could be used to give Ostler an extended contract though.

We would certainly need a new stricker.

It would be unfair to forget Dean Shields.

I always used to think he was called that

Perhaps we should try to get Neil Sillyvan into the deal too.

Haven't Birmingham got a small issue with their chairman and the far eastern rozzers?

Sounds like David Pleat has had a hand in all of this. Listening to his punditry often reveals some interesting pronunciation. That Benny Noon at Chelsea was a great example.

Or even just Gillet. Maybe Kyle Bennet as well.
