Does anyone know much about cars?

I'm not very good when it comes to a problem with my car so hopefully someone might be able to help?
I have a strong smell of petrol in my car. It only seems to be in the summer, but that might be because I have my windows open or the air con on! When I fill my tank up the smell gets even stronger.
I haven't noticed the petrol going down any quicker but I suppose its been like it since I got the car.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

It may be your fuel pump gasket. Basically means fuel doesn't go all the way into the tank. And stays up at the top and evaporates so it doesn't look like there's a apparent leak. Which will cause smelling when
Hot.
On the other hand it could be fuel dripping onto the exhaust heating up and smelling strongly.
Pop your bonet up give it a good look up and down. See if there's any unusual looking things. I can't see it harming your car but might waste you money if fuel is evaporates.

Right... cheers! I've only just had my MOT so that should have picked something up shouldn't it? I keep meaning to check with my mechanic but it didn't seem that important! I'll get it checked over to be sure.
