Well I put my FSF and VSC hat on this morning and rang Brighton. I did have to wait about 45 minutes to get through but I have spoken to their Customer Services department about the ticket arrangements and car parking.

Firstly the ticket allocation seems to be pretty confusing and my understanding of this drip feed arrangement is because of a complete sell out in the home end. The worry of course is that Brighton fans would attempt to get their hands on away tickets which is why tickets were initially restricted to one per season ticket. To cut a long story short though Ken Brown, the MD at Brighton, has agreed that we can have extra tickets for this Saturday. It was suggested to me that any further decisions would have to be made by DRFC and our ticket office should be in a position to purchase what they need to meet demand.

The problems of Brighton fans buying in the away end still applies and Police advice has been sought. I would suggest anybody who wants a ticket should be contacting the DRFC ticket office and letting them know.

That one sentence would worry me if I was hoping to get a ticket.
Do they expect DRFC to pay up front for an extra allocation? In which case there may not be any.

From the Keepmoat website (complete with dubious grammar):

\"Please note are being sent a further 348 tickets which will be with us at some point Tuesday 2nd Aug.  If you are already on the waiting list and have purchase history with us you will receive a phone call tomorrow to confirm and take your order.  (People will only be added to the waiting list if they have a purchase history with the club)\"

Wellred,

The pre-purchase of tickets by the away club does not apply at Championship level.

Latest update from ticket office - I just spoke to them.  Brighton have told them we will get another 340
tickets and they are on the way to DRFC, expected to arrive on Tuesday.  Tickets will be allocated in the
order of you getting your name on the waiting list.  i just added my name and am number 250 so still 90
left. They will call you when they have tickets in hand to confirm you have a ticket, so probably a call
on Tuesday.  Hope that helps.

Afraid not,

When I added my name (around 15 on list at that point) I was asked how many tickets I wanted, of which I want 3, so its hard to see 249 people before you all wanting just one ticket

Given she told me I would definitely have a ticket I imagine its a list of 250 tickets
required rather than 250 callers.  That isn't that hard to work out, is it?

What a farce. We should have been allocated the 2000. We would have sold them easily. People wont be messing about with waiting lists etc due to the messing about then with travel arrangements if they did or didn't get a ticket.

Spoke to a steward at the Spurs friendly down here on Sat and he said it was Donny that requested the initial 1,300 because your club didn't want to fork out for the whole 2,500?  I then spoke to someone else and they said it was all to do with the fact that we still hadn't received the full safety certificate (for a capacity crowd) and that's why you only initially got just over half the stand.  The certificate was awarded after the Spurs friendly.  All very confusing and I'm not sure what the real story is.  Whatever the reason it's a right bag of sh#te and it's the supporters (again) who miss out.

We requested an initial 1500 tickets from Brighton and were sent 1000, when a further allocation was requested we were sent 200, this is what clubs do!

Like our ground the away end can be divided into 2 still with health and safety regulations being accounted for and the 1200 represents one half of their away end.  With 1300 tickets still available for this match a discussion was needed between both clubs to reach an agreement that would not jeopardise home fans being in the away end and the liklihood of selling all these tickets to genuine Rovers supporters when the Brighton end was sold out.  Or further discussions were needed to see if there was a possibility of giving us a lower allocation and segregating further across the stand safely as we clearly do not have alot of fans that have missed out so far based on the waiting list!

Mrfrost,
apologies for my grammer, i was just leaving the office when the decision was made, and thought that fans would be grateful to hear the news asap, so the article was a bit rushed but to the point!

Tracy thanks for your clarification but as I understand FL rules we were entitled to all the tickets in this designated 'away' end.
I know of a few have simply not bothered to put their names down as the decision seemed very final.
We would have sold the lot imo and it didn't need to be on a SOR basis unless I have misread the rules.
Both clubs should have resolved this issue on the first day of general sale (when we sold out the initial allocation) notwithstanding safety regs..
As I understand it there were many Spurs supporters in the 'away' stand as well as both the North and West stands........was that a safety issue on Saturday. I doubt it.
Our supporters have clearly missed out by waiying for general sale as they were only allowed 1 ticket each prior to that. Many supporters may have wanted to take their non-STH relatives with them.
I'm going but very unhappy that many of my fellow STH's are still unable to go.

The decision was never final until today, and we advised supporters of this.  If they chose not to put their name on the waiting list on Wednesday, then they clearly weren't that bothered about going.  Anyone that was desperate for a ticket would have made that call.

I do not see why you are unhappy that your fellow STH's are unable to go, when we will still have tickets available even after sorting all the genuine rovers fans on the current waiting list.

Sorry Mrfrost for my earlier post i realised it was not you that made the comment regarding my grammer!

Its ok Tracy haha!

I just think the waiting list situation will have put fans off making travel arrangements etc. Never mind.

What Mr. Frost said. Seems we had an exaggerated 'waiting' list then ! I smell a rat here, we ask for 1500 and get given 1000, we ask for the original allocation and get given 200 = 1200. Still not 1500! Then we get drip-fed a further 348 = 1548.
As I said before I'm not buying the safety issue idea as 17,000 from 2 clubs were accomodated in that stadium on Saturday  and by all accounts (BHA fora)the Spurs fans were in most stands.
Why did we not get our original 1500 as requested ?
Why has it taken so long to decide about safety issues when all along (i.e from the 1st. day of general sale), it was obvious that we had been allocated far to small an allocation ?
Why would there be a safety issue in a stand that (given the circumstances) we may well have filled ?
Why was the initial allocation only 1 ticket per. STH bearing in mind many would use this as an excuse for a weekend away with their spouse etc.?
Who made that stipulation and why , was it B&H Albion or DRFC ?
