Leicester spending with the inclusion of Beckford reached £15m and like alot of other teams are watched by triple the numbers we are! Thus the reason we are the bottom is nothing to do with SOD but merely other teams have better players because they shop at M & S not at Aldi!Just enjoy the season win, lose or draw!!!
I empathise with your sentiment Norfolk, I have enjoyed all seasons since we reached this rarified atmosphere, and some of the football we have seen has been stunning, but I wouldn't say we shop at ALDI. That is rather demeaning our players, Bennet may not have cost a fortune, but I would rather have him than some spoilt failure from the Prem like Beckford.

Someone said he'd rather Rovers shopped at ALDI than got a spoilt premiership failure. I merely said like Barnes........who was a spoilt premiership failure. Ask anyone at Derby, or the club he went to after that. Not saying he's rubbish at all, I actually like him as a player a lot, but he was reknowned for tantrums and thinking he was it. One story recounts how he was often seen around the Derby nightspots with a Tshirt bearing the legend \"I am Giles Barnes\". I rest my case.
Some valid points here. I agree with the OP, we choose to follow a team because we love them, not because they have the fattest cheque book and in our case this means feeling a bit hard done to sometimes as Rovers can't seem to make the same investment that the bigger clubs can.Having said that, we are paying Championship prices to watch the games and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect some movement in and out of the club during transfer time. You'd have to be incredibly naive or blinkered not to wonder how long DRFC can continue to operate at this level when you look at the amounts the bigger clubs are spending.
