It's not really a question of his price surely . Can we for once de- materialise and get back to some reral values in our world ( of football) and just let Billy Sharp get on with his life as a normal human being !

There was no way he wasn't going to get this after what's happened let's be honest.

Player of the f**king season I say.

For someone that seems to get on their high horse about morals and ethics so much, this surely has to be a new hypocritical low.

Not trying to sound disrespectful here but I remember one bloke saying at the Middlesbrough match that Billy playing could be a controversy for the boro players, imagine being a centre half playing against a player who has just gone through the tragedy Billy did, would you tackle him like no tomorrow or do you think twice and show him a bit of leeway? And to me that is a valid point.

Now I am in now way whatsoever suggesting that the death of his son can be seen as an advantage to us, but it does beg the question; did it make him harder to play against? You can talk about players being professional but had someone made a clumsy challenge (similar to Dunk's but more clumsy than malicious) and injured they would become a knife sharpener for the fans and media of sport alike.

But I do agree with VK, the minute he stepped on the pitch against Middlesbrough he would have at least been nominated for his services to the sport, after he scored, the award was his in my opinion.

I agree, although the way he has picked up from injury so quickly and returned to scoring form as well should have counted.
