Can anyone shed any light? Heared that Rovers are not offering the direct debit installment plan in case the worse happens and people decide they want their monies back! I for one would pay a non returnable deposit ie 1st installment rather than run the risk of not being able to afford one before deadline or the thought of being refused by the finance company being used.

Well you've been misinformed.
Last season the club introduced a spread payment option which they handled internally. The work was carried out by the office staff and they obviously have limited resources. This season they wanted to extend that but it was impossible for them to do it themselves because of a host of reasons, all making it a practical impossibility. Their search for a credible partner led them to the current experts in this field Zebra Finance, which is what they've gone with. Zebra are used to dealing with football supporters, you should be OK, it wasn't ideal for the club but better than anything else they could currently deliver.
You have to remember as well, the football industry themselves cannot get finance because of the bad debt situation, i.e. Portsmouth, Rangers etc etc.
