£5 million would tip the balance.

£5 million we don't have.

COUNCILLORS will meet today to discuss options for the future of Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium.

Among the possibilities being considered by council bosses is to knock the Keepmoat down and sell the land for redevelopment, only six years after it opened.

A report to go before the regeneration scrutiny panel today states that the cash-strapped venue is no “longer a going concern” and does not have the money in place to operate for another 12 months.

The Free Press revealed last year that talks are under way to sell the community stadium to Doncaster Rovers.

Paying Rovers compensation for the remaining 19 years of the current  agreement probably stops that being an option
Absolute Rubbish !! if you going to tell lies at least let that lie be plausible one.

Why is that a lie?  Do you think the council can just tear up a lease agreement without any financial consideration to the lessee?  Clearly you know nothing about property law.

I think you owe Filo an apology.

If you`re going to accuse some one of lies, back up your statement, go on tell us all why it`s absolute rubbish! Why do you think the council are going 50/50 with Westferry on the sale of the Belle Vue site? It could n`t be due to the fact that Westferry are long term lease holders could it? Tell me that`s rubbish as well!

The VSC gave serious consideration to setting up a management company to tender for running the stadium back in 2005.  Ultimately, it was felt that it wasn't what we were about at that time.  However, the suggestion had been put to JR by Andy Liney and I seem to recall that a little research and planning was done.
