Ouch!

A particularly nasty foul from Ligue 1. Unfortunately the victim has a compound fracture of the leg.

Christ up above that made me wince.

Worst two I ever saw were:
1) UEFA Cup match in the 90s. Winger went down under an innocuous challenge. Stayed down like he'd been shot. Clearly time wasting. Till you saw the replay - he'd landed with his arm outstretched, over extended his elbow joint and snapped all the ligaments.

2) 1980s American Football game. Wide receiver running flat out caught a ball coming over his shoulder and planted a foot down to stop himself running into touch with his knee bent at 90 degrees. His foot stopped. His lower leg stopped. But his thigh bone didn't and separated from his lower leg at the knee.

They include the Dave Busst injury, which is the worst I've seen (a complete accident, by the way). Busst lives not far from me and he still walks with a serious limp. Dermot Gallagher, who was the referee, said it was the only game in his career he hadn't enjoyed- because of that injury.

I went to Busst's testimonial at Coventry when they played Man United, a game that subsequently became notable because it was the last one that Eric Cantona played before announcing his retirement.

That`s a myth, Haaland played on for another season after that.

Also you fail to mention that a couple of years earlier Haaland did Keane`s cruciate ligaments and put Keane out of action for a long time, Haaland accused Keane of feigning injury at the time

It was actually an injury to his other knee that ended his career, he played for Norway after that tackle by Keane

Is it true that Schmeichel ran the other way and threw up after seeing Haaland's knee?

Jesus that Theismann injury is absolutely horrendous. Great showing by LT to immediately get him help though.

Some other terrible injuries that have happened in the Premier League in the last 10 years that spring to mind are Eduardo's, that was sickening, and Luc Nilis who is often forgotten but he suffered a career-ending injury when he collided with Richard Wright whilst playing for Villa. I remember still very clearly today the image of Nilis' leg going pretty much in exactly the opposite direction that it should halfway down the shin. He came over here as a highly rated, proven international striker too.

That's the fella. Didn't he dislocate his shoulder falling from Adams' shoulders and it never set properly.

I'll always remember that one because they re-enacted it in a 'Phoenix From The Flames' segment on Fantasy Football. Usually a segment where they re-enacted legendary goals

Anyway, it is a popular misconception that that unfortunate accident ended Morrow's career, when in fact he returned to play for almost another decade for several clubs and even played a key role in Arsenal's Cup Winner's Cup triumph in 1994. :)

He did miss the F.A. Cup Final soon after the injury though.
