Blades Mad update.
« on March 23, 2013, 05:28:18 pm by Thinwhiteduke »
Seen as they couldnt get their game on again, thought Id pop across and have a look at what they'd been talking about this afternoon, a couple of key comments:

"Donny = poorest side to win League One for ages."

"Donny are pretty much there though how they've done it with a major overhaul of playing staff after last season's chaos and losing their manager half way through this one is outrageous."

"I suppose it depends on whether we are talking in terms of FFP budget constraints or the wherewithal of the board in which case I would say Donny have more firepower than us. Ignore Ryan Terry Brammall was rumoured to have trousered £600 m from the sale of Keepmoat"

"Donny winning 3-1 now.

I looked at their team and aside from Cotterill I wouldn't take any of them.

Am I bang out of order or are there some other great players they have. I suppose Coppinger is not bad."

"3-1 Donny F@CK OFF"

"No. Don't want Donny to win personally."

"I think Donny will get promoted this season, they just don't look like slipping up do they & haven't done much wrong since they've been in contention for the Auto places. Imo they are certs to get one of the Auto places"

Interesting.

Envy is making them blind, they now know in all probability they are going to finish the season below us again!

I'll give them one thing, we aren't exactly convincing  but then that must be more the case of Sheffield United and the others below us.

If they make the playoffs, it'll be 6 games in the space of 14 days I make that.

Bloody no chance. Great laugh from their board though. They've blown it surely.

Have to agree with this but then again its prob the poorest League One for ages too in terms of quality.  I do recall similar comments last year about Charlton from both sides of Sheffield.

Also that Sheff Utd team that played at the Keepmoat in Jan was the poorest Blades side I've seen in ages.

Are we a poor side though? I don't think we are. Not pretty at times yes but poor. Poor teams don't do what we've done this year.  Id call us very effective and good at how we play.

When av you ever heard owt sensible come out of Sheffield. They're as dumb as f**k and can't play footy. What's changed. Let them keep believing. Big city, two incredibly shit football teams. They'd be better sticking to egg chasing........forgot......they're shit at that an all. Ought to stick to running tho apparently tight cheeksEnnis has left the shithole for better pastures too

Completely agree. We're far from a poor side, in fact we're an incredibly effective footballing unit. We're everything a good side needs to be. We don't show it every week, but neither do Barcelona. Everyone has slip ups and off days. The fact we're top when apparently playing so poorly should only hammer home just how good we are.

........and those are the reasons that they are sooo pissed off with us. Quite frankly they have given up when there is still all to play for , what is it with these Deedars is it in the water ?

Big club syndrome. They expect it all to be handed to them on a plate, when it isn't they cry about how the world is against them and how they should be top and so on.

It's funny, they're saying we're a poor side who've been lucky. A lucky result is to me relying on the other side missing a host of chances and getting some extremely dubious refereeing decisions in your favour. Much like the Blades did at the Keepmoat this season, for example. I'm struggling to think of a time where we've been that lucky this season, maybe Brentford at home when they missed a couple of chances, and Shrewbury away when we had luck with the sending off, but then we were dominant before the sending off anyway.

If anything, I thought the sending off at Shrews worked against us.

TBF to them we were nearly as bad at there place as they were at ours going forward anyway, could say we also got lucky at tranmere and Swindon aswell or didn't deserve 4 points anyway but hay shit happens

Exactly, after four years in the championship of playing well and getting beat and pushed over by the bigger teams; it feels good not playing so well and scrapping out 3 points

And there's been times this season when we should've had more out of a game than we got.
I'm a big believer in things evening themselves out over a season. We are top because we've been better over the last 39 games.

Lets get one thing straight we have won 13 games away from home  this season, which is more than Sheff Weds last season. Only Charlton won more and we still have 3 more away games left. It's our home results that have been not good enough, if they had been better we would have been promoted already. So let the Blades talk, you can only beat what's in front of you. We must do this at home and we will be promoted, whether this league is poor or not is irrelevant. So come on Brian, no meddling with the team, come on the team score the goals at home and we will have walked the walk unlike the Blades supporters who have talked the talk.

I wonder if those deluded enough to think SU deserve to win the league were at the KM on New Year's Day when they got out of jail to get a point when they'd been played off the park for 85 minutes.
All ifs, buts and maybes but those extra 2 points would nearly have us over the line and their point off would leave them without a hope of automatic.
