Great picture - have you noticed the fat guy in the light blue top (left of Copps as you look at the picture) click on the picture to enlarge and it looks as though the fat guy is trying to hide behind the guy in blue. What is he expecting - the ball to burst through the back of the net?

Made me smile

The ball at that end did once go through the net, around about where he was stood. Mark McCammon effort and the referee gave a goal kick.

Jeez, I'd not realised just how far off Sulli was to saving it.  Good job the crossbar saved it

And to the left of that guy is Barry Evans!Despite the fact I thought Janine had killed him,he's a Eastend boy,not west londoner?

Edit: Infact, looking again,I see just behind Barry Evans is Phil n Grant and Billy Mitchell!

I like the stewards arm in shot on the left, it is as if he is saying to Trotta, 'hit it here!'

Yeah, he could back healed it down the middle and Sully would have just been thinking 'emergency cord' 5 minutes after the ball crossed the line.

I like the steward off-stage left pointing and saying, "Trotta, you plonka!"

We've also solved the mystery of where Paynter was hiding as the penalty was taken. He's in the navy blue top just to the left of Coppinger's elbow. Next to James Corden. Below left from the Siamese Twins. Just below the bloke with a nose that looks like a tensely clamped hand.

I wonder how he made it to the halfway line?

That has got to be used as a spot the ball in the next fanzine.  :woohoo:

But to be serious for a moment, that photo is a masterpiece.

Anyone ever read "Among the Thugs" by Bill Buford? He coined the term "dead-time". That split second between the ball leaving the foot and hitting the net. Or not.

The moment when time stands still and every possible emotion runs through your being.

Football eh? Bloody hell. Anyone who doesn't empathise with the Brentford fans in that photo doesn't understand football.

The face 2 above the phantom stewards arm is Cotts!  What was he doing sneaking into the crowd?

Great Picture! Shows how far Copps ran and how, if the Brentford players hadn't just dropped to their knees, they might have stopped us scoring! So if Copps is there, Paynter on the halfway line - how fast is Copps??

Actually, the phantom steward is on the process of winning a bet. His mate has just said to him, "Bet you can't find Alun Armstrong off New Tricks and tickle him under the armpit before this penalty hits the bar."
