hoola, you miss the point.

I had said the club were scrapping all charges as part of the discussions we'd had over transparency of ticket pricing and a move towards meeting drfc supporters wishes on a number of topics. This thread then gets turned into a negative because people still want to have a pop at the club for something they don't have knowledge of. Why can't you acknowledge that the club have made a positive move?

That's a huge step forward.
I've always hated credit card charges, booking/handling fees etc. Such things are a business expense and should not passed on to the consumer as a 'hidden' charge.
Scrapping the charges is a very positive move and the club should be applauded for taking another opportunity to put the fans first.

SM why does everyone miss the point with you ?
We are merely discussing whether charges are made by banks and on what type of transactions. It's getting to the stage where no-one can express an opinion for fear of apparently 'having a pop' at the club.

Charges on debit cards should NEVER have been in place in the first instance. I have no problem with the club charging the going rate for credit cards as previously stated.......they should do imo.

Hoola,

I give in, have it your way, I'm far too busy to discuss this any further.

But Hoola, the fact is they were in place and the club have recognized that this needed to be changed. Remember we haven't had the stadium for 12 months yet and I imagine the charge for using debit cards was put in place by the old stadium management, the club have come in and scrapped charging the customers for using them, and about time too.

''They were just passing the cost along and in some cases were losing money, such as with season tickets, as the costs they faced were as a percentage and also transaction based.''

The above was a quote from SM , I'm just putting the record straight that there shouldn't have been  2 1/2 % charges on debit cards perhaps SM was mistaken on this point. Incidentally it was a ridiculous notion to charge our supporters on that basis.
However I'm told at last we're no longer going to piss our supporters off with unnecessary charges.  :clapping:

I think the real issue is the Debit card charges were wrong but they were put in place by the SMC and to put it frankly profiteering.
I'm sure this was discussed a few years ago and with the same result it was at least morally wrong to charge per ticket, anyway it sounds as if its being looked at and sorted.  IRWT

Obviously the War Memorial to fallen soldiers who had played for Rovers, once more names become known the case for this will be stronger. I would suggest that this is more important than a Legends Wall at the moment given the Centennial of the start of the Great War is August 2014.
