States he was happy for the game to carry on.

Unfortunately dickos it wasn't his call :( Having watched 'Goals Express' it appears that other games were concluded under similar conditions.

Well he wasn't! He was always at the ref dying for it to be called off!

He can say what he likes. Powell may have said this to dickov but he was at the ref straight after our 2nd went in! There's no way he wanted that ref the let the game continue

There are times when I'd have a bit more respect for people if they were just honest, of course he wanted it called off but it looks like gamesmanship to be seen to try to get it called off. He should just say he's been handed a get out of jail free card and be happy, that's how most Charlton fans will be feeling I expect and I've no problem with that.

Had it been the other way around I'd be happy it was called off.

I thought that Powell had somebody else doing his dirty work, although as manager he could have told his assistant or coach whoever he was to stop whining at the ref.

Just read powell's comments on the game and thought he come across well. Imagine if it was Ince or Coyle spouting their big team guff. Dickov would have probably done the same if the boot was on the other foot. So tbh I think fair play Powell said nothing about us not deserving being up.

He "generously"  said maybe one goal of ours was due to the conditions. I've seen the goals a few times and it didn't look like any of our goals were due to the water. Their goal got stuck on its way to Turnbull before being whacked in.

What I think he meant about not wanting the game cancelled is that once they had scored he didn't want it cancelled, or maybe when Keegan had been sent off.
