Downloading/Viewing TV Shows Online
« on August 23, 2013, 10:20:24 pm by Mike_F »
Luddite post alert!

I've heard a lot of good things about "Breaking Bad" so thought I'd see if it's available to watch online anywhere. I searched and found that it's on iTunes but it's SIXTY QUID!!!! for the first series alone. And you don't even get a dvd to keep! I'm sure I could walk into HMV and buy a nice, shiny box set for a fraction of that price and have something physical to show for it. I believe it's also available on Netflix and the like but I'm not subscribing to summat like that to watch one bloody programme.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Yes, is Blockbuster still trading?

It's not ideal when I fancy watching summat whilst laying bollock naked in bed!

No, not quite what I meant. :P

Replace the hyphen with an r, then google with Breaking Bad season one (I assume) in front of it, top link then try the third one down on that page. :)

Or you could sign up to netflix and cancel your subscription before your free month is up?

I watch breaking bad on netflix through my xbox. It's worth it for the 7 quid a month. Like RedJ says, if you don't want to keep it just cancel after a month.

Good series though, onto series 3. It's slow, so stick with it, a lot of dialogue (as in conversations between husband and wife type of dialogue). But it is very very good. Like i say slow, but speeds up.

Excellent hint, if even too subtle for some

Ah, that old chestnut. I've not used anything like that since the old free Napster days in case I stick a virus on my computer but I'll have a look.

I've signed up to Netflix this week and I'm quite impressed. Our internet connection isn't the greatest and I was worried it would be forever freezing etc but not once yet. For £5.99 a month I have no idea why I was paying Sky £25 for so long.

With Netflix what's the quality like playing on TV via a Wii?

And if I'm watching one thing on the TV could my daughter watch something else on her ipad at the same time?

It's okay. Choice of films isn't great.

In a word, yes. You can be signed in on I think two devices.

As Frosty says the choice of films isn't that good but for a fiver a month you can't complain. There's a few good uns though, a few decent lesser known films too.

Breaking Bad is simply brilliant.

Netflix for 6 pounds is a steal got alsorts on there.

Mike, I would get the free trial to netflix (one month) and then cancel before paying, then if you want another month you use another credit card to create a new account and get another month free.

School chemistry teacher, diagnosed with cancer, turns to making and selling crystal meth in order to provide for his family after his expected death.

Or, as the writer puts it, "This is a story about a man who transforms himself from Mr Chips into Scarface".

It's quite simply the best written series i've ever seen on TV. The acting isn't bad either.

Too slow for me.  I watched the first series and nodded off continually.

I'll stick with Dexter and The Walking Dead.

How did you manage to keep yourself awake for Walking Dead, second season?
