We will struggle if..
« on August 31, 2013, 05:16:32 pm by RedArmy »
We dont create more chances than we did today.

It was Embarrasing we created in my opinion 1 maybe 2 decent chances, playing away id accept that but at home against a team who have shipped 11 goals in their last 2 away games is a joke.

Its the first time this season other than today we've been superb!! We're not going to win every game but when we do lose can the players please give it more of a go.

Well done too dickov though for chucking everything at it.  :rtid:

Conceded 9 goals in 5 games against Championship teams.

We will struggle if that carries on.

The other side of the coin to that is I expected them to come out second half and give it a right go, after having a right bollocking for the first half performance. All I  saw was a goup of players that lacked basic ball control, a persistant ability to be beaten to the second ball every time and totall lacking in ideas!

Dickov is naive tactics wise
Talks good game but the lads are looking after themselves
He will lose the dressing room if he doesn't pull himself together

After one poor game and a cup match that at 1-1 could have gone either way? Don't talk b*llocks.

Not sure dickov got it right tactically today tbh we needed midfielders on to try and create and have more of the ball. His subs meant we couldn't build any attacks and had to lump it

From what I've seen, we're not good enough to not be near the bottom of the league. Nowhere near enough firepower up front and the defending hasn't been as solid this season either.

This season was always going to be a struggle though. Being the miserable bas**rd that I am I always had it in the back of my mind when we were challenging for promotion last season.

To be honest, our home performances, Blackburn aside, have been pretty piss poor for a long time now so I can't say I'm surprised about today. It needs to chane quickly!

From what I've been told, our main weapon, work rate, was sadly lacking today. We haven't got the players that can turn things in an instant with a bit of quality like other sides so this must be sorted. Teams like ours need to scrap for our lives every week in this league. If we don't have that we will struggle.

Possibly players were a bit tired after recent run of games, if I'm clutching at straws

I wonder why we played it so direct today? Have the cherries been conceding all the goals from long balls over the  top or somet?

Well I thought paynter for cotterill was an odd one that left us with no shape! I personally would have had furman or syers on and allowed us to build a move. Also when Duffy came on everything went very narrow! We had at one point coppinger forrester and Duffy on the pitch and they all played central what good does that do?

Er, you are ARE clutching at straws! Tired, after half a dozen games? You cannot be serious.......as a certain Mr McEnroe was heard to utter some years ago!

Syers wasn't an option,
And if u brought furman on you'd have to bring wellens or keegan off so that would've been a ludicrous change

It was a bit tongue in cheek mate to be honest! I just wanted some small consolation. Ha.

Having said that, small squad, same 11 each week, will become an issue

Thought so CC! As you say we are desperately looking around for some consolation. Your point re the size of the squad is a valid one, though.

He made a brilliant save (from Copps?) during our spell of pressure just before half time

Copps also had a good effort that just missed, and wellens should've done better when he smashed it over the bar

I think PD is going to have to rest/rotate the players more. I know we havent got a massive squad, but we have got more options than we 've had for a while. It's a tricky one because if he'd changed the team for the Leeds game, which i thought he would have, people would have slagged him off for changing a team that did well previously.
The likes of Browny,as good as he has been, cant run his bollux of twice a week and stay injury free or perform to the same level.
And yes, we've only just started the season.

no I wouldn't have had to do that. I would have chaned the system to make sure we had more of the ball and created more. Everything bypassed the midfield today. Having 37% possession shows this

For Robinson to dominate the midfield. Giving wellens a free role to pick up the ball anywhere on the pitch and coppinger and another winger top support brown so it would be a 4-3-3/ 4-5-1 in order to have more of the ball and hopefully create more
