Brammall, who actually trusts him?
« on November 11, 2013, 09:21:40 am by Boomstick »
For someone who doesn't like football, what's in it for him?
Will he develop the land himself and make a killing for his own pocket, it would be very easy for him to do that wouldn't it. he already owns a big stake in the club, he wouldn't have to invest more in the team.
JR said other members of the board want Rovers in league one. So expect little/ no investment in the team, a relegation and a lot of building work.
At least under sir John Ryan's plan, the team would have been invested in. Because wasn't it a part of the sequentia deal that if they squired the club they invested 20/40 million in the team, and on top of that JR gets autonomy to run the football side, while sequentia get the profits from the development. That's what we all want surely?
But now TB is free to develop it himself, make a killing and he doesn't even have to invest in the team.
this is just my opinion/prediction, and in no way do I present it as fact.

TB is retired, I doubt he wants to develop anything.

I also doubt TB WANTS Rovers in League 1, despite what John says. He wants Rovers to work to a budget, which is a different thing. If we can stay in the Championship on that budget, I suspect he'd be more than happy, if we can't and we have to compete again in League 1 so be it.

I don't think that is a terrible scenario.

Until we've actually heard some kind of statement from TB I don't know what to think or what his plans are.

That's roughly how JR explained it at the AGM. He was critical of TB for not being concerned about the prossibility of relegation and said it lacked ambition. Not that he wants Rovers in League 1.

Before anyone else makes their opinion known just have a read of this excellent article. He puts in to words exactly what I feel.

Broomstick I understand your emotion and blind support for John but the manner in which in went was wrong.

NOT ME

Tuffty,
Did you actually read the article I suggested?

I pleaded with JR via this forum not to do it the way he did but he was intent on doing as much damage to Bramall he could.

JR has made mistakes in the past and on the whole supporters forgave him including me but if he stirs up trouble and carries on sniping at Bramall ,which will divide the supporters, his halo will slip and ruin the respect we all had for him.

Wrong again. Still waiting for the answer about how you got rid of Beresford Alex?

I don't not trust him.

I trust him a damn sight more than SC though.

And for the record, I also trust John Ryan.

I was always told don't trust anyone in business and the sentiments behind that have been proven to me many times over the years.   However, if there is one person in this I trust more than most it would be JR, I just don't see him purposefully putting the club at risk but he is making a huge judgment call here.

I have the greatest respect for TB and DW and am glad they have put their hands in their pockets over the last few years but I do not know enough about them to have a view on how they would act without JR's input.

Sequentia, well, here's my take, JR would have to build some serious safeguards into any deal before I would be happy with them in charge.  If JR has seen enough to convince himself that they are better than TB and DW then maybe they are but I'm really not comfortable with any of this so far.
