Copps 400th game
« on January 29, 2014, 10:39:17 pm by Bristol Red Rover »
Only 11 games away, so would be at the Leeds game at the earliest he becomes the 4th player to make 400 appearances for Donny.

This is MASSIVE in terms of player achievements and I hope the club can make something of it. Ideally it would be great if someone could sort out Colin Douglas to appear and make some sort of presentation before the game. (Obviously the next home game if the 400th is away)

For those not up to speed, Duggie is the only surviving player who's made the 400 appearances, and holds the all time record for appearances with 444.

He spoke about it in an interview a few weeks ago.  He's sorting it out and details will follow.

He should break the all time record if he gets a contract for next year then.

I'm liking him again I have to admit..Ive been very uninspired with him since he came back and taking sentiment out of it I probably wouldn't have wanted to break the bank to keep him...However since something went off in his head and he remembered that he can still run at players and cause problems instead of laying off pointless 6 yard balls all the time he is a totally different player....

Yup, it's been said plenty of times before but when he's on his game he's worth the ticket money alone but consistency has always been an issue. Now that he's playing with Wellens again, who knows his game inside out, I think we're starting to see more of the "awesome" and less of the "invisible" Copps. With Sharp back as well I think we're only going to see more and more from him.

All that being said, even if he was playing like crap he'd still deserve a testimonial in my eyes. It's about loyalty after all, not quality. Personally I hope he gets the all time record.

Did he break the record away at Carlisle?

I seem to remember some supporters calling him over and giving him a bottle of Bells whisky (Christ knows how they smuggled that in!)

I've always been a fan of Copps and said a number of times that I'd have him in my team on crutches!
Bloke sat next to me on Tue said- Copps 'int playing to bad today!
My reply- Copps dosn't have bad games, he's just less good is some  ;)
No-one has sold a player more than Copps, a class act, its just a pitty he's not getting any younger :scarf:
