More bizarre odds
« on February 15, 2014, 10:56:41 am by BillyStubbsTears »
Best price you can get on us today is 13/8.

For next week, Yeovil are 7/5 to beat us.

So, according to these odds, Yeovil are more likely to beat us (a team 4 places and 8 points above them) than we are to beat Barnsley (3 places and 7 points below us).

Once again, it looks like odds tipped crazily against us. Like I've said, if you put a decent bet on us every week you'd be quids in this season.

Strange odds indeed and there seems little/no reason for it. I think you're right you would definitely be Quid's in backing us all the way.

Crazy odds! Only thing I can put it down to is the inconsistency in this league? Other than that I'm at a loss

Remember that odds simply reflect the bets that the bookies have taken. So you can kind of think of it as a "Wisdom of Crowds" thing. The odds reflect what punters think of us.

What the odds are consistently saying is that punters think that we're in the worst 1-2 sides in the division. Whereas the facts indicate that, even with the horrific injury problems we've had, we're a good bit better than that on average. And considerably better than that when we have something close to our first XI out. That is why there has been money to be made on us this season. The punters have consistently called it wrong.

Maybe they factor in us being knackered after a long journey to Somerset and The Tykes being fresh as a daisy coming from Oaky?

Perhaps not - but it is bizarre to say the least

The bookies had Charlton as favourates to beat us at the keepmoat a few week back, which I found bizarre since we were the home team and above them in the league.

Another side of it is Man utd,the bookies consistently offer big odds for teams beating them, when they haven't really put a consistent run in all season, how many times have teams beat them this season, that haven't beat them since the seventies etc,the bookies are still pricing them up as though it's last season under Fergie,i wish i'd been shrewd enough enough to be against them so far this season, anybody who has,has got a major profit on they're hands,or even in them

...and in Mirror today it has Yeovil v Doncaster as a 2 (away win of course)!
