Future England keeper no doubt. Positioning and handling impeccable.

Looked excellent today on the stream I watched.  Can we get him on season loan next time, if Turnbull doesn't extend?

Reminds me of the Sullivan Wembley play-off performance with his taking balls out of the air.

Would be cheaper on wages if we were to get Johnstone on loan for the season than keep Turnbull

6 weeks ago, according to this forum, Turnbull was the best signing we'd made and the best goalkeeper in this division. Johnstone has done a good job since he came in, but Turnbull for me

Yep. Turnbull for me for his experience. Think he's been our best player this season.

Shows how good Johnstone can be that we're having this discussion though.

We need to get Turnbull tied up. The way Johnstone is developing he will be in contention at Man Utd next season...

Would it be too much to have both?  Let Maxted go on loan for experience and development, but retain 2 excellent keepers so we're ready to deal with injury/suspension/loss of form?

Probably. If Turnbull was going to be second choice somewhere, he could find somewhere where he'd be earning a lot more money to do so.

And Johnstone will be wanting to play, and is arguably too good to be benchwarming in the Championship.

As much as I'd love to sign Johnstone, I'm sure he's destined for greater things and it may hold his career back if he signed for unfashionable Doncaster Rovers. (Unless we progress next season and become fashionable!!)

I'm sure Man U will be watching his progress and will not part with him cheaply. A season long loan would be fantastic and I think he has the edge on Turnbull due to his better mobility and awareness coming of his line.

As said before though, what a position to be in with two superb goalies.

Absolutely no chance United will sell him.

The right move for Johnstone is a season long loan in the Championship next season. Arguably, it's better for him to be in a team likely to be in the lower reaches for the extra game involvement, and one with a reasonable defence to work with, at least for one more season.

Without his injury, I think we'd be stretched to keep Turnbull after this season. As it is, we've a good chance of one of these quality keepers for next season.

Very confident performance today and great to be able to stand watching without fearing the worst every time the ball went in our box.

Turnbull for me we need to try and keep him because he's been excellent and he would be our keeper. We won't get Johnstone on a season long loan if we sign Turnbull as United will not want him warming bench for the season they will send him somewhere to get guaranteed first team football. If we don't sign Turnbull we could possibly go back in for Johnstone but we would have no chance of keeping him beyond the season so then we would be back to square one trying to find a keeper.

Having either of these 2 between the sticks will be the difference between staying up or going down. Turnbulls even saved a couple of pens this season. Anybody who thought Woods had potential need to have a long hard look at themselves!
