Cod Heads? Isn't that Grimsby?
OK: "if the game stays as it is and sheff make it into the final and Arsenal finish in the top 4 of the premier league " - two big 'if's there. However, if they do and Blades are in Europa league:
1) good luck to em
2) might well stop em getting promoted to Championship next season with such a distraction
3) might be fun watching them get soundly beaten on Europe-wide TV.

It gets deferred to the next Premier League place doesn't it? I don't think runners up get a European place anymore but I could be wrong.

It's only cup winners go into Europe and not runners up. 1st-4th is CL then 5th is Europa League. If a team that's already in Europe wins one of the cups then 6th places gets Europa League, if both cup winners are in Europe already then 5th-7th are in Europa League.
So, Sheffield United will have to win it to get to Europe. Man Utd could do with Arsenal winning the FA Cup.

Unless they've changed the rules since 2011 when Stoke were runners-up, then Hull City will be in the Europa League next season.

Yes the runners-up can qualify. From the PL website:
UEFA Europa League
There are three places in the UEFA Europa League available: the FA Cup winners will enter at the Group Stage; the fifth place team in the Barclays Premier League will enter at the Play-Off stage; and the Football League Cup winners will enter at the Q3 stage.
In the event the FA Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Champions League the FA Cup runners-up will qualify, but in the place reserved for the lowest ranking Barclays Premier League representative. The place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club that finishes in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.
