Gerrard...

Surely the most overrated player ever to wear an England shirt. A bad couple of months...I wouldn't get on his plane home (they come in threes).

Gerrard is as passionate and determined as anyone to wear the shirt, stop judging his whole career on the 2 games this world cup.

And that picture is nearly as tacky and classless as The Sun's front page tomorrow.

Blaming Gerrard is unfair their were defenders behind him who should have dealt with the threat.

Basically, England are not a very good team and have lost to two better ones in this World Cup, very tough group.

Personally, I've been waiting years for us to start playing like Spain

I've said it for years and years, I can count the number of good games Steven Gerrard has had for England on one hand.  And I might not even be able to constitute to a full hand

Hodgson for England, Dickov for Rovers.

Lib Dems to form next government, Queen to abdicate before 'passing' Queen Vic's 'tour of duty'.

Non of the above 'fit'. IMO.

Goal was not gerrards faiult as thr centre back Stood behind him whos
Job it is to watch out for Such mistakes and clear the Lines.

Said CB was not Stood goal side Of saurez and anticipating the situation.

If he had Been Stood goal side ,saurez would have had to work Much Much Much harder to Get a shot on goal never mind score

In my opinion, it just shows how many years England has been poor for that has allowed Gerrard to get 112 caps.
Good club player, average international player. Not even European class, let alone World class

Bit harsh on Cahill Oslo, am sure he'd have been expecting either Gerard to win the header & actually head it forward or the Uruguayan to flick it on in which case Suarez would have been miles offside. The last thing he'd have expected was for Gerard to play him in.
Cahill was outstanding imo, shame we don't have a better partner for him.

I agree regarding Cahill, a good defender, but not one decent player in the other 3. As for gerrard, once a great, but his legs after a long season can no longer cope. I thought Henderson was fantastic against Uruguay , he was the driving force and always playing forward probing passes! We do have some great younger prospects, the euros will be interesting, I hope.

Cahill got caught Well out Of position sorry to say  as i think he just not read the possible danger  likes Of John terry who had no pace would have
Set is stall out far different as his strength is reading the game/situation.

Yes Cahill did have a good world cup but Its mistakes like his on saurez
Is why we lost 1-2

For sure Gerard should have done better with his header ,buts why Cahill should have been goalside Of saurez.

Its the first thing i was taught at school When i played deffence

Allways Stay goal side

Never let the  ball bounce

See how fast Their CF can run with a limp.

And When playing upfront ....never let grass grow under Your feet .....in
Other words never stand still When waiting for play or ball to come  Your way

Gerrard was too blame for the second goal his performances have not been good enough for England for a long time but half the country thinks the sun shines out of his arse.

Gerrard would have left lpool Ages back, but some external  forces told him that was not to leave lpool.his family owed a favour to a gentleman ,he would have left otherwise.

When gerrard was coming up Throu the  lpool ranks,a known young
Chap coming up the criminal ranks had dated gerrards mrs before they got
Together .said Chap took it upon himself to try and blackmail gerrard.chased him Throu city in a high speed car chase etc etc,

Gerrards family reached out to a senior gentleman in croxteth ,who put a stop to it all.this left the gerrard family inndebt to This gentlemen .

The character reference for a court appearnce was Written by steven Gerard and thr gentlemen that was on trial never showed and went on the run .

I didn't know the ins and outs of the story, but I recall Gerrard was lined up to move to Chelsea a few years back and then he got "cold feet." I had heard rumours that threats were made against his family if he left Liverpool.

There are many many many international/club managers who would disagree wholeheartedly with you. And i tend to side with them

The incidents were separate TRB. Gerrard got cold feet over the Chelsea move because, fundamentally, he didn't want to go. At heart he's just a Liverpool lad and LFC fan. The incident with the crim was more to do with a family associate. There's also added spice in that Mrs G once dated a notorious figure from the Merseyside underworld prior to meeting Gerrard.

Gerrard has never been a 'great player' IMO.
Very good club footballer, great, no. Best of a bad bunch as far as International class is concerned.
As far as having 'great young players' coming through, I'm yet to see them.
I don't think we've had a truly 'great' international for many years. In fact it's that long I can't even remember who it was
