To me this just shows that PD must have at least 2 other 'keepers of more experience in the pipeline one of whom will be Turnbull.

We were in the same position at the start of last season weren't we, and we ended up with 2 of the better 'keepers in the division, notwithstanding relegation.

I've been thinking that as well. It seems odd for him to move on without another club to go to but maybe he's been told he's only third choice. He may also have been offered less money, and I don't suppose he's on a big wage anyway.

Still, you can't help wondering whether he'd have been better off taking it so long as Rovers were willing to let him go out on loan and then move on for free if the loan worked out.

I disagree,He was third choice not second choice for most of last season.I would expect Dickov to believe he will again have 2 keepers at a better standard than Maxted for this season if he is leaving.Even if it's say Turnbull and a loan keeper?Also,finacially I would expect a youth goalie to be used for 3rd choice especially in league one.
