Yes of course I do. Don't forget that installing rail seats could be costly, but our calculations point towards a payback of about 8 months. But a club like ours wouldn't have to do that. Remove seats and then replace with safety barriers as per the Green Guide. Easy!

We have those. But in fairness anything I give out here wouldn't mean anything as each installation is different.

What's the obsession with standing? People prefer it as  to sitting down obviously.
Really don't see the issue. Part of the ground will then allow people to stand who want to and part of the ground will allow people to sit down who want to. All in a safe environment. Can't wait for it to happen. I know loads who don't go due to the matchday experience mid 20s would come back.

Padge, do you mean the obsession by people who object?

If so that's a complex answer. The authorities, whoever they may be, are fixated with the idea that standing will reintroduce hooliganism into English football. It's not a safety argument, it never has been, it's about control of football crowds (in my opinion)!

There's a poll on the MSN home page as we speak.
Approx 25000 votes up to now.
56% don't want it, 44% do

35% do now - I hate such polls with no useful information. Most voters either don't know what football is, are concerned that they'll have to stand whilst watching Johnny Mathis's latest stadium tour, or are thinking it means their sofa will be removed whilst they're watching Sky footy.

Every poll that's been run on this subject, either by FSF, newspapers, football clubs, supporter groups etc etc in the last 10 years or so has always returned a positive response in excess of 80%. I've yet to see any that's returned a negative response.

Why don't we have a poll on here, just to see what Rovers fans want.

MFD

That's not a poll, it's a vote.

A poll is a statistically sampled sub-set of the entire population, designed to be as representative as possible of the population at large. As a result, it's results broadly match the opinions of the population at large (to some %age accuracy).

In a vote on a website, there is no control over whose opinion is included. There could be thousands of votes by coppers or people who hate football. It's next to meaningless as a result.

Politics has been hard on football. I say ban drinking at polo games. There'd be uproar.

Don't do a poll on Rovers fans. Wouldn't be accurate. We've missed a generation of fans we go from early 20s at most to 50 plus. 30s 40s are all in the pub sat in their 1999 leeds home shirt cheering every goal man utd concede.
