So what do people think based on the news coverage? Has he been tried in the media?

I guess he is actually guilty of Premeditated murder, listening to the judge this morning she has cast doubt over witness evidence in abundance. Judge also casts doubt on OP not willingly squeezing trigger, lots of twists and turns yet I think.
However, back to original poll, he will be found guilty of some charge, but not the "Premeditated Murder", so I have marked poll as Not Guilty.

What do People think Of the justice system out in SA

As OPs case all falls down to what This lady judge has taken in from
The whole case.

She is explaning her thoughts on the whole case in very fine detail

Its not just the "Judge" Oslo, she has ( I think ) 3 aides to reach the verdict.

All murder charges are now "Not proven", only 2 verdicts it can be now (Culpable homicide or Aquittal ), culpable homicide carries a wide range of "sentence", from a fine to 15 years inside).

Judge says "Definitely Negligent" so looks like Culpable Homicide ( Manslaughter ). Unfortunately adjourned till tomorrow now at 09.00 ( 08.00 UK ).

100% certain he will be found guilty of manslaughter. His bail will be withdrawn and he will go down. So no need to tune in tomorrow. Trust me I know what I'm talking about.

You don't need a crystal ball. After Negligence proven then only outcome is manslaughter. He not necessarily go down, could be simply a fine.

It's a fair conviction really though. There's no way to prove he shot her deliberately. However he shouldn't get a short sentence. He made an error but a big one and should be punished.

I read sometime back that if you ever shot an intruder dead straight away
In SA without no warning it was allways best then to fire a couple Of rounds off into Your Roof ,which will Help Your case in court down the line.

Or if you ever shot dead an intruder who was running away from Your
Property ,make sure that you pick up the  body and place it in Your house
Before Police show.

He'll get 7 years. They proved he did actually think it was an intruder.

I dont get it,judge says he's a right slippery bas**rd and doesn't believe a word he says but then decides to believe he thought there was an intruder, that he didn't know the only other person in the building had locked herself in a small toilet and that he couldn't have foresaw that firing four shots from a gun would lead to someones death?Go to SA kill someone and not spend a day in jail

So, now we wait until Oct 13-16 for sentence. Bet he walks free as he is a first time offender.
