Bristol City home league game
« on January 03, 2015, 08:04:48 pm by GlennKirkwoodFanClub »
I've just noticed that the fourth round of the cup is to be played over the weekend of January 24th when Rovers are due to play Bristol City in the league. For obvious reasons if we win or lose the cup replay, the league match will have to be rearranged.

Yes, and this has been known since the 3rd round draw was made, but there has been no sign of the league game being switched yet?

Those were the days when you could be playing replays every two or three days. My old man skipped work to see the tussle with Aston Villa at Hillsborough when we played them about four times before going through.

What would make more sense is to see if any of the many tams we now have night matches with are free and look at rearranging one for that Saturday if we are eliminated. more likely a bigger crowd, more revenue etc

They won't postpone the Bristol City league game until the opponents are sorted out for the FA cup tie. If we were drawn against someone who couldn't settle their replay until 4th round day - say due to bad weather - then we could still play the league fixture. An unlikely scenario, I admit.
